The Advantages of a Rotating Turnstile:

  • Maximum pedestrian-only throughput.
  • Mechanical "anti-tailgating."
  • Minimum footprint.
  • Best two-way traffic control.

Principle features:

  • Ultra-low actuation force, coupled with extremely smooth rotation.
  • Continous damping of the barrier arm, eliminating tail bone hits and arm wobble of last century's turnstiles.
  • 22" passageway without the lower arms interfering with the knees, common with last century's turnstiles.
  • Front Panel Emergency Release that is activated with the supplied aerokey.
  • Modular mechanics can be removed and replaced with an aeroturn Linear in the same cabinet, if a non-contact unit is preferred. These mechanics allow unlimited flexibility in creating unique cabinets and installing in desks or walls.
  • Energy Saving Performance reduces power consumption after unlock. Rotary mechanics when combined with an aeroturn UPS will run in excess of 5,000 cycles without external power.
  • Faster than a speeding pedestrian, with 60 passages per minute continuous duty capability.
  • Library quiet (no "clicking")
  • Plug-N-Play hook-up simplicity for same-day, turnkey installation.

COMPANY OVERVIEW
AEROTURN is a small company of intense engineers and craftspeople with a mantra Treat everything like it's the only thing!

We have a lot of passion. We take great pride in manufacturing a superb product in CT-USA, for the security of the USA. Our staff originally met in the early 80's at a firm engineering products for others. Dozens of patents later, Turnstiles found us.

In the 90's we built over 3000 turnstiles for a customer, and enjoyed doing it. We arranged to go off on our own to create: This Century's Turnstiles!

Starting with the proverbial "clean sheet of paper," and thousands of development hours later, we incorporated in 2001 and immediately embarked on invention and testing. We then installed our first Rotary and Linear Turnstiles 2004.

We now have a "Who's Who" customer list, 100% repeat business, a comprehensive range of products and services.

Linear Turnstile

The Advantages of a Barrier Arm Unit:

  • Easy ADA and cargo throughput.
  • Physical barrier instead of a "beep."
  • Optomechanical "anti-tailgating."
  • Good two-way traffic control.

Principle Features:

  • 22-36" passageways with a single arm unit.
  • 36-72" passageways with a double (opposed) arm unit.
  • Easily overridden if inadvertently contacted when arm is in motion.
  • Front Panel Emergency Release activated with the supplied aerokey. Safely lowers arm when activated and auto-secures the passageway when deactivated.
  • Modular mechanics can be removed and replaced with aeroturn Rotary mechanics in the same cabinets, if you remodel or relocate. These mechanics allow unlimited flexibility in creating unique cabinets and flush mounting in walls to secure hallways.
  • Site-Adjustable Barrier Speed allows you infinite and independent adjustment of up and down barrier speed.
  • Energy Saving Performance reduces power consumption after unlock. Linear mechanics, when combined with an aeroturn UPS, will run in excess of 5,000 cycles without external power.
  • Library Quiet
  • Plug-N-Play hook-up simplicity for same-day, turnkey installation.

AeroWing Turnstile

The Advantages of an Acrylic Panel Unit:

  • They impart an open "hi-tech" look.
  • Easy ADA and cargo throughput.
  • Physical barrier instead of a "beep."
  • Optomechanical "anti-tailgating."
  • Good two-way traffic.
  • Great retrofit for comparable cabinets.

Principle Features:

  • A "classic" barrier style also available for retrofits for other cabinets.
  • 22" passageway standard unit.
  • 36" passageway ADA unit.
  • 39" tall panels in frameless, easily replaceable, 10mm polished acrylic.
  • Easily overridden if inadvertently contacted when panel is in motion.
  • Front Panel Emergency Release activated with supplied aerokey. Safely opens passageway when activated and auto-secures when deactivated.
  • Site-Adjustable Panel Speed allows you infinite and independent adjustment of open and close panel speed.
  • Energy Saving Performance reduces power consumption after unlock. AeroWing mechanics, when combined with an aeroturn UPS, will run in excess of 5,000 cycles without external power.
  • Flexible design in flush mounting in walls to secure hallways and running units in tandem to create man-traps with screening in between.
  • Library Quiet.
  • Plug-N-Play hookup simplicity for same-day, turnkey installation.

X-Wing Turnstile

The Advantages of a Glass Barrier Unit:
  • Easy ADA and cargo throughput.
  • Physical barrier instead of a "beep."
  • Optomechanical "anti-tailgating."
  • Good two way traffic control.

Principle Features:
  • Another "classic" barrier style
  • 20-36" passageway with a double (opposed) panel unit.
  • 39-72" tall panels in frameless, easily replaceable, 10mm safety glass.
  • Easily overridden if inadvertently contacted when panel is in motion.
  • Front Panel Emergency Release that is activated with supplied Aerokey. Safely opens passageway when activated and auto-secures when deactivated.
  • Modular mechanics with a single mechanism or dual mechanism in a single cabinet. These mechanics allow us unlimited flexability in creating unique cabinets, flush mounting in walls to secure hallways, and running in tandem to create man-traps with screening in between.
  • Site-Adjustable Barrier Speed allows you infinite and independent adjustment of open and close panel speed.
  • Energy Saving Performance reduces power consumption after unlock. X-Wing mechanics, when combined with aeroturn UPS, will run in excess of 5,000 cycles without external power.
  • No-Prior-Knowledge Egress modes. (Choose from 4 types!)
  • Library Quiet.
  • Plug-N-Play hookup installation for same-day, turnkey installation

The Advantages of a Glass Panel Unit:

  • They impart an open "hi-tech" look.
  • Best ADA and cargo throughput.
  • Physical Barrier instead of a "beep."
  • Optomechanical "anti-tailgating."
  • Best two-way traffic.

Physical Features:

  • Compound Barrier Movement unique to aeroturn. Panels rotate and translate keeping the leading edge of the barrier midway along the passageway (like an "angel wing" type) while storing the panels parallel to the passageway (like a "swing gate" type). This gives the safest and widest passageway with the narrowest cabinet. Unprecedented ADA compatibility, particularly with service dogs and wheelchair footrests in bi-directional traffic.
  • 22" passageway with a single panel unit.
  • 22-42" passageway with a double (opposed) panel unit.
  • 39-80" tall panels in frameless, easily replaceable, 10mm safety glass.
  • Easily overridden if inadvertently contacted when panel is in motion regardless of direction of approach.
  • Front Panel Emergency Release activated with the supplied AeroKey. Safely opens passageway when activated and auto-secures when deactivated.
  • Unlimited Flexibility in creating unique cabinets, flush mounting in walls to secure hallways, overhead panels to create an "automatic wall of glass," running panels in tandem to create man-traps with screening in between, and non-glass panels and gates.
  • Site-Adjustable Panel Speed allows infinite and independent adjustment of open and close panel speed.
  • Energy-Saving Performance educes power-consumption. Portal mechanics, when combined with an Aeroturn UPS, will run in excess of 5,000 cycles without external power. The complementary translation and rotational movement of the panels require only 36 watts to sustain a constant 600 passages per hour with 55 lb. panels.
  • No-Prior-Knowledge Egress modes. (Choose from 4 types)
  • Library Quiet
  • Plug-N-Play hookup simplicity for same-day, turnkey installation.
