Fixed Skylights
The Flushglaze skylight is the epitome of the fixed skylight market. With it's frameless design the Flushglaze allows as much natural daylight into a room as possible.
t can be manufactured using a variety of custom glass specifications to suit your chosen application, typical variations include double glazed units utilizing tempered heat soak tested and heat strengthened laminated glass, triple glazed, and walkable specification glass suited to your required loadings and even fire rated glazing.
Other options include acoustic glass for locations with high noise pollution, solar control and different types of privacy glass. All of our skylights also feature a low e coating.
The Flushglaze fixed skylight is our most popular skylight and as such, we hold stock sizes for this product, if you're interested in a stock size, check out our prices below.
The beauty of the Flushglaze system is its flexibility, meaning it can be used in a variety of applications - from residential, to commercial buildings.
If you are working to a span up to 40", then a simple silicone seal is the only requirement to secure the panels together. This is a great solution if you are looking to maintain the ‘frameless' internal appearance of your skylight. Large areas of glazing can be linked together using a variety of different methods.
For larger spans you will need something stronger to safely support the joint between the glazed panels. The Flushglaze modular system can also be specified with back to back aluminum ‘T' angles for structural support. This option tends to fit in very well with modern interiors, particularly when paired with folding or sliding door systems, the internal angles can be powder coated to any RAL color of your choice.
If you're looking to maintain an all glass finish, the Flushglaze modular system can be specified using glass fins as structural support instead of aluminum angles. These are a real architectural feature and offer a slightly more elegant finish. The fins are heat soak tested, tempered laminated, for maximum strength and are supported at each end by stainless steel brackets.
The Flushglaze wall abutted skylight is a minimalist fixed skylight, with ‘frameless' internal views designed to be structurally fixed to a wall or building on up to three sides.
The wall abutment detail is part of the Flushglaze framework and should be secured using suitable fixings, dependent on the structure being used. The skylight should always be pitched away from the abutment detail to minimise the chance of water ingress. Once installed, the wall abutment frame should be flashed over to fully weather proof it.
This detail is available on a number of Flushglaze products including solo and multi-part units, as well as walk on Flushglaze units. It is not currently available on Fire Rated Flushglaz skylights.
The eaves system takes the Flushglaze concept one step further by allowing vertically glazed sections to be connected to overhead glazing. In most cases a silicone seal is all that's needed to bond these sections together.
This system is designed to be installed within the eaves of your building using our standard Flushglaze wall abutment detail to securely fix it to the wall. Internally, the eaves Flushglaze unit provides the same frameless views as our flat roof mounted unit, resulting in a seamless transition between inside and outside.
Glazing Vision have collaborated with architects, pushing the boundaries of how this product can be used in both residential and commercial applications.
Our Flushglaze skylight range is not just limited to flat roofs single pitch roofs. Glazing Vision have developed a ‘ridgeglaze' system that is designed to be installed over the apex of your roof increasing daylight and sky only views on either side.
The Ridgeglaze is a variant of our Flushglaze system, which means it features the same low profile design, frameless internal views and externals with no capping which reduces dirt build up.
This means the Ridgeglaze skylight has all the same qualities you get from our usual flat fixed skylight design: no visible internal framework; low emissivity heat soak tested glass as standard with the option of triple glazing; custom-built to the size and pitch of the roof you want to transform with natural light.
The Ridgeglaze is designed to be installed incorporating a standard pitch ranging from 10° to 50°. For pitches outside of this range, or for larger scale units, Glazing Vision can design and manufacture a custom product specifically tailored to fit your building. We have even manufactured retractable sliding versions of the Ridgeglaze allowing the whole skylight to be opened up.
The Pitchridge is a fixed roof window designed to provide maximum daylight with minimum visible internal structure. Supplied in either portrait or landscape formats, it is designed to be installed in-plane on pitched roof applications.
The product is robust and long-lasting, boasting excellent thermal performance and air tightness, and there are a variety of optional extras such as special colour and easy clean coating.
A wide variety of glazing specifications are available for this product. Your technical sales advisor will be happy to answer any questions regarding specific glass specifications or glazing performance requirements. Otherwise, quotes include suitable and cost effective glazing proposals.
Pyramid Skylights
Our fixed pyramid skylights are manufactured as standard at 45° using glass to glass joins and structural silicone seals. They feature dual-colour as standard, thermally broken framework, and optional down lighters integrated into the apex cap. This turns the skylight into a stunning architectural feature at night.
The pyramid skylights are straightforward to fit, and only require a raised upstand on your roof built to our standard specification.
These units are supplied with high specification heat soak tested low e safety glass for optimum thermal performance and durability.
The Glazing Vision fixed lantern skylight is a contemporary evolution of the traditional roof lantern.
Glass to glass joins feature extensively on these skylights, minimising visible framework and maximising the amount of natural daylight flooding into your building. Our lantern skylight features dual colour, thermally broken framework and high performance heat soak tested, low e safety glass for excellent thermal performance and durability.
These units are supplied pre-assembled with structurally bonded glazed panels, and are designed to be installed onto a flat upstand
Hinged Skylights
The Glazing Vision Skydoor is a fully glazed hinged opening skylight designed for day to day access to your roof space, ideal for roof decks.
Operated by our intelligent LED control switch, the unit will respond to both one touch and press and hold requests. The Skydoor opens out to almost 90° at full travel by means of synchronised dual actuators but you can also stop the unit at any point mid travel which means it can be used as a natural ventilation skylight too.
Safety features include current override sensors, anti slip threshold tread plate and also a three point thru beam proximity detector system which will sense any movement beneath the opening section when in motion and prevent the lid from closing until the switch is engaged again.
The Skyhatch range of roof access skylights are designed to provide a cost effective means of accessing your roof to carry out essential maintenance tasks. We offer two versions:
The Skyhatch manual is our entry level access skylight and does not require any power, this version of the Skyhatch is used where access to the roof space is less frequent and is commonly installed for maintenance access.
Skyhatch electric is an maintenance access unit primarily, and can also be stopped at any point to serve as a natural ventilation skylight. The extruded aluminum framework is thermally broken and supplied as standard in dual color Qualicoat approved powder coat. The skylight is operated by the intelligent LED wall switch supplied. Dual lift twin mechanisms provide reliable and stable support for the lid section when fully open.
The Glazing Vision Visionvent skylight is designed to provide a combination of natural daylight and natural ventilation to your space. This contemporary ventilation skylight is available in three options:
The manually operated Visionvent opens using a screw jack mechanism fitted inside the internal aperture, a pole is provided in order to adjust this mechanism at height.
Our chain actuated Visionvent can be controlled by a wall switch and is opened using an integrated chain drive unit housed within the frame.
The top of the range electrically operated Visionvent unit also operates via a supplied wall switch, but functions via twin drive synchronised mechanisms with encoder feedback. This allows larger sizes to be manufactured and full connectivity to extra options such as remote control and building management systems.
Each unit features dual colour, thermally broken framework and is supplied with heat soak tested low e toughened glass as standard.
Walkable Skylights
The versatility of the Flushglaze system is demonstrated perfectly in our walkable skylights. These products can unlock the potential of a terrace or dark basement without sacrificing usable space. These units are commonly installed using decking to achieve a flush finish with the skylight as an up-stand is still required, Glazing Vision provide alternative details so that solid finishes such as paving can be used.
Sliding Skylights
If space on the roof is tight the Glazing Vision ‘sliding over fixed' skylight could be the best option. This skylight is usually split into two sections, with one sliding pane of glass moving over a fixed section. This configuration allows the maximum amount of light to be transmitted whilst opening up 50% of the overall footprint for ventilation.
Power is transmitted through a twin drive rack and pinion system with large diameter carriage wheels and hard anodized tracks to provide smooth travel when in motion. The Sliding Over Fixed features a one way solenoid clutch and built in anti lifting mechanism so the sliding section cannot be forcibly back driven.
For larger areas with sufficient unobstructed roof space for the sliding section you should consider a ‘sliding over roof' skylight.
With this skylight, the glazed section slides as a single leaf and is supported by tracks on the roof itself in the open position. These form part of the framework and allow more scope in size and specification whilst maintaining the 100% clear opening.
The Sliding Over Roof includes all of the main security features of the Sliding Over Fixed and is operated using the same rack and pinion drive mechanism with one way clutch system.
All sliding skylights can be supplied with remote control and connected to a rain sensor, thermostat and home automation system.
Flat sliding skylights can only be used for access if suitable balustrades are installed, Glazing Vision strongly recommends seeking guidance from building control before commencing works on site.
Roof Deck Access Skylights
The Skybox unit is the perfect solution if you're looking for easy access to your roof deck. Operated at the touch of a button, the user simply climbs the stairs whilst the Skybox is retracting into its open position and then walks straight out onto the deck.
The specification of glazing used and physical structure of the design means that there is no additional requirement for balustrades around the skylight.
The Skybox can be manufactured in a variety of configurations but will generally consist of one sliding section of glass moving over a fixed section.
We manufacture two standard configurations, a freestanding box which features glazing on all sides and a three wall box which is designed to be shrouded by the walls of the building itself on three sides.
Our three wall Skybox configuration is one of the most popular and can offer an almost seamless integration into the fabric of your building. It operates in the same way as our freestanding box skylight, but instead of being completely glazed on all sides, the three wall version is fixed to your existing building structure at the back and either end.
Other than having less glass, in all other aspects the three wall box skylight offers the same functionality as the freestanding version. Our latest generation of box skylights are all available with high performance glazing and thermally broken framework so you can be assured that the thermal performance of this unit is unrivaled in its class.
We have manufactured and installed countless numbers of these units, predominantly in urban city environments where space is limited and home owners turn to maximizing their roof space.
Roof Windows
The Pitchglaze is a flush fit roof window designed to be installed in pitched roof applications.
It has been fully tested to AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/1.S.2/A440-17 standards, which includes tests for air permeability, watertightness and wind resistance.
We have adopted our pioneering ‘frameless' design ethos with this product, so that when installed, the building occupants can enjoy sky only views through the aperture, something not usually found with traditional roof windows.
The Pitchvent is a ventilation roof window designed to be installed in pitched roof applications.
The Pitchvent can be used at roof pitches between 15° and 60° and comprises of a Qualicoat approved, powder coated dual colour aluminium frame, combined with either double or triple glazing options.
This unit is available as either a manually operated unit, using a screw jack and pole mechanism or as a chain actuated variant, supplied with one or two actuators, depending on specification.
When compared to traditional roof windows, the Pitchvent is available in much larger sizes, thus increasing the amount of natural ventilation in your building.
