Surface & Texture
Bandon Black is the original proprietary charred surface. The texture is a dense char resembling reptile skin. The soot layer is approximately 1/16 inch (1.5 mm) thick. This finish is suitable for indoor and outdoor applications. If used indoors it should be properly sealed to bond the soot.

Wood Grade
STK - “Select Tight Knot" grade allows for well spaced intergrown knot. Unlimited combination of heartwood and sapwood, pith allowed. Checks allowed to 1/16" as long as plank stability, weather-resistance, and cosmetics are not adversely affected.
CMG - “Clear Mix Grain" no knots with minor blemishes (ie. birdseye).
Clear Grades are predominately sapwood.

Species
Native to Oregon and NW California, Chamaecyparis lawsoniana is a species of conifer also known as Port Orford Cedar, white or Oregon-cedar, ginger-pine, or Lawson cypress. Renowned for its beauty and structural integrity, useful for both indoor and outdoor applications. Port-Orford-Cedar has earned a reputation for strength and decay-resistance. It is a particularly hard and strong cedar with the similar or superior natural durability as other types of cedar when it comes to weather, rot and insects.

Surface & Texture
Gold Beach is twice brushed after proprietary charring methods. The texture resembles a smooth 3D topographic map of the Oregon coast range. The brushing removes the summer wood leaving the heavily textured charred winter wood prominent. The soot layer is completely brushed off. It is suitable for exterior or interior use. Ships pre-finished to the customer.

Surface & Texture
Newport Gray is once brushed after proprietary charring methods. The texture is silky smooth to the touch and appears to have layers of waves varying in color from a June Gloom sky to dark storm clouds rolling in from the coast. The soot layer is approximately 1/32 inch (0.8 mm) thick. It is suitable for exterior or interior use. Newport Gray does not need to be oil finished for exterior applications but an oil pre-finish will bond in soot and slow down color weathering.
