Primacoustic is a manufacturer of acoustic materials of all types. With over 30 years experience in studio and live sound and 15 years in acoustics, we have amassed a tremendous resource in the form of knowledge that is interspersed throughout this web site. We firmly believe that by sharing knowledge, not only will you enjoy better results from our products, you will pass along your learning to others.
The TelaScapes Fabric Track System allows you to acoustically treat any commercial or residential space without sacrificing aesthetics, while maintaining a high level of effective sound absorption within the space. The system is comprised of three fully customizable components: high density glass wool panels that provide broadband acoustic absorption, a modular track system that is almost universally compatible with any surface, and a selection of stretch fabric available in a wide range of colors.
The Clarity Room kit has been designed to treat rooms up to 120 ft2 and can be used in multiples to treat larger rooms for a variety of purposes. This kit is ideally suited for an office boardroom or home office, collaborative spaces and shared offices.
Primacoustic paintable panels are made from high-density 6lb per cubic foot (96 kg/m³) glass wool, offering nearly five times greater absorption than many low cost foam alternatives. This means that you get more absorption with less panels, while assuring an even absorption curve throughout the frequency range.
These panels are coated with a breathable latex finish in Absolute White that can be left white or painted any colour you need. You also have the ability to print on these panels using commercial flatbed UV printers, which is great for branding, design and aesthetics.
The purpose of this kit is to provide absorption that will fade into the background while bringing your conversations and message into focus. The panels included in the kit have been assembled to easily create designs or patterns or blend into the walls depending on the needs of the space and designer.
Absorption works best when it is placed within the space that our ears occupy as it will affect and have the most impact on what you hear and how it sounds. The best way to use this kit is to spread out the panels evenly on all four walls. Placement of the panels should take into account the purpose of the room and how it is typically arranged and used to have the greatest overall effect.
Primacoustic Paintables™ are an innovative acoustic panel range that are finished in Absolute White™, or can be repainted to the color of your choice! The design begins with the same high-density 6lb per cubic foot (96kg/m3) glass wool core that is used in the Broadway series panels. Rather than wrapping the panel in fabric, the face and edges of the Paintables are coated in a breathable latex finish that allows them to be spray-painted without affecting acoustic performance.
Paintables provide balanced absorption at all frequencies, and are available in a variety of sizes. This makes them suitable for both large scale and small room installations including houses-of-worship, airports, home theatres, offices, call centers, boardrooms, restaurants, video conferencing, huddle rooms, broadcast facilities and recording studios of all sizes.
Paintables Are Also Printable!
The unique coated surface of the Paintables panels can be custom printed at your local print shop. Using UV flatbed printer technology, many commercial printers can apply custom graphics, photos, logos, or the image of your choice to the face of the panel. This high-resolution printing applies a thin coating in vivid color without affecting the acoustic performace of the panel. Complete customization of your acoustic treatment is now possible!
The Primacoustic Broadband Raw Panel is designed for the most flexibilty for any custom acoustic treatment. The Broadband Raw Panel is designed to be used to treat a large space and the ability to use with the Primacoustic TelaScapes Track System.
Made from a high-density (6pcf/96 kg/m3) glass wool, Broadband Raw Panels offer balanced absorption at all frequencies and have been tested for acoustic performance by third-party laboratories. Each panel is fully encapsulated with micromesh to ensure safe handling, and all edges are hardened with resin for clean architectural lines and a sharp appearance. To ensure safe installation in public spaces, Broadband Raw panels have been tested in accordance to various fire and burn standards worldwide.
Broadway Raw Panels are available in 48"x48" (122x122cm) with a 2" (51mm) hardened resin square edge for clean lines.
Primacoustic Broadway is a range of high performance fabric covered acoustic panels designed for use in applications where superior acoustic performance is desired and safety is of utmost concern.
Made from high density 6lb per cubic foot (96 kg/m³) glass wool, Broadway panels have up to six times greater density than typical foam panels for balanced absorption throughout the audio listening range. Each panel is fully encapsulated with micromesh and edges are resin hardened to assure safe handling during installation. Panels are then covered in a tough yet acoustically transparent fabric and offered in three ‘architecturally neutral' colors with choice of square or bevelled edges. Panels may alternately be re-covered with any breathable fabric to suit those with greater artistic flare.
Installation is easy! Broadway panels hang as easy as pictures using a choice of impalers. Should you decide to relocate the panels, clean up is simply a matter of filling a screw hole and touching up the paint. Four standard panel sizes are offered with choice of 1″ (25mm), 2″ (51mm) or 3″ (76mm) thicknesses. This allows the designer to attenuate voice or flutter echo using thinner, more affordable 1″ panels for installations such as offices or call centers, or opt for thicker 2″ or 3″ panels for music related installations such as theater, studio and broadcast where broadband absorption may be required.
All Broadway panels are laboratory tested for acoustic performance and Class-A/1 fire safety by meeting stringent ASTM-E84 and Can-UL S102 requirements for flame spread and smoke development. This makes Broadway panels safe for use in commercial, government and institutional installations.
Broadway… high performance acoustic panels that look great, are easy to install and safe to use anywhere!
Primacoustic Hercules™ panels are absorption panels that are designed to withstand the abuse of environments such as gymnasiums, offices, classrooms, and other public occupancy spaces. While most acoustic panels are delicate and susceptible to damage, Hercules will help to reduce reverberation while looking like new after repeated impact.
Hercules Impact-resistant panels are manufactured from the same high-density (6pcf/96kg/m3) glass wool core as Primacoustic Broadway, but the face of the panel is covered with a 3mm (1/8") thick high density rigid fiberglass layer. This facing allows the panel to effectively absorb most frequencies, but the protection will prevent damage occurring from accidental contact. Whether someone bumps into the panel, or a basketball bounces off it in a gymnasium, the Hercules panel will remain looking fresh and intact. This durable facing even allows for the use of thumbtacks in the panel, making it ideal for office spaces or schools.
Hercules panels measure 24"x48"x2" (60x120x5cm) with square edges, and are available in beige or grey acoustically transparent fabric.
The Primacoustic Nimbus is a high-performance ceiling cloud designed to hang from the ceiling and capture ambient energy by absorbing sound as it hits the face of the panel, all while trapping powerful reflections from the ceiling on the back side of the panel.
The Nimbus is made from 1.5″ (38mm) thick high-density 6lb per cubic foot (96 kg/m³) glass wool that is completely encapsulated with micromesh and resin hardened edges. The acoustic panel is then covered in either Broadway™ acoustically transparent fabric or coated in Primacoustic's proprietary textured white paintable finish. Installation is easy using the included screw-in Helix™ cloud anchors, SlipNot™ suspension cables and ceiling hooks. As with all Broadway panels the Nimbus has been fire tested, achieving the most stringent fire safety ratings in the US, Canada and Europe.
Each Nimbus kit ships with two panels, eight Helix cloud anchors and SlipNot suspension cables, as well as T-anchors and eye hooks for ceiling mounting. Available in black, grey or beige acoustic fabric; or in a paintable textured white finish. The Primacoustic Nimbus cloud gracefully suspends from the ceiling of any room to provide effective reverberant control for improved intelligibility.
The Primacoustic Saturna is a high performance acoustic baffle designed for more demanding installations where added sound control and an attractive appearance are important.
The full-sized 24″x48″ (60 x 120cm) Saturna and the low profile 12″x48″ (30 x 120 cm) Saturna LP are both constructed from 1.5″ (38mm) thick high-density 6lb per cubic foot (96 kg/m³) glass wool panel's that are fully encapsulated with micromesh and bound with resin-hardened edges. Each panel is then covered in either Broadway™ acoustically transparent fabric or coated in Primacoustic's proprietary textured white paintable finish.
The full sized Saturna is ideal for large spaces with tall ceilings such as gymnasiums, convention centers, warehouses and industrial applications. The reduced height of the Saturna LP makes it suitable for rooms with lower ceilings such as community halls, meeting spaces, house of worship or any other space where ambient noise and intelligibility are of concern. Installing the baffles is easy using the integrated Corkscrew™ anchors and included SlipNot™ suspension cables. The results are immediately noticeable with less room chatter, shorter reverberation time and improved intelligibility. Because the Saturna is twice the density of most acoustic baffles, you will also enjoy greater low frequency absorption and a more natural sounding room.
The Saturna and Saturna LP have been tested to meet stringent fire ratings for use in public spaces worldwide, which makes them a great choice in any room where unobtrusive and aesthetically pleasing baffles are desired. Available in black, grey or beige acoustic fabric, or in a paintable textured white finish. Each Saturna kit includes two panels, four preinstalled Corkscrew anchors, four SlipNot suspension cables, and T-anchors and eyehooks for installation on most ceilings.
The Primacoustic StratoTile™ is a great looking high-performance ceiling tile made from high-density glass wool for added absorption in the critical voice range. This helps improve intelligibility by attenuating flutter echo and reducing first order reflections.
It features ¾" thick (20mm) high-density 6lb per cubic foot (96 kg/m³) glass wool for maximum sound absorption and is encapsulated in fine micromesh with sealed edges to retain the minute glass fibers. The front surface is finished in Absolute White™ for excellent reflectivity or can be repainted to suit. Designed to retrofit into existing T-Bar systems, the StratoTile is available in both square 24″ x 24″ (60cm x 60cm) and rectangular 24″ x 48″ (60cm x 120cm) panel sizes and in choice of the space saving ‘lay-in' edge treatment for flush-mounting or the ‘reveal' edge that drops down below the T-Bar to produce an architecturally sculpted look. Cutting out panels for light fixtures, ventilation and ceiling speakers follows the same cut and position process used with regular ceiling tiles. But unlike low-cost mineral wool tiles, StratoTiles will not sag due to moisture. This makes it particularly well suited for use in regions with fluctuating temperatures and humidity levels. The StratoTile has been fully tested to meet the stringent ASTM-E84 fire and smoke development requirements for Class-A/1 designation and safe use anywhere.
Once in place, the StratoTile works with the air space above the panel (called the ‘plenum') to absorb all frequencies down to 125Hz, delivering a truly linear performance throughout the voice range. This makes the StratoTile ideal for installations such as call centers, boardrooms, offices, restaurants, and classrooms, where excessive reverberation and echo inside the room can make conversations difficult.
The Primacoustic ThunderTile™ is a unique acoustic T-bar ceiling tile that combines the remarkable absorption characteristics of high density glass wool with the sound-blocking attributes of gypsum board. Once installed, ThunderTiles provide effective control of the reverberant field while eliminating bothersome primary reflections that make communication difficult.
The design begins with a pure white finish on top of an acoustically transparent micromesh tissue that fully encapsulates the panel. This is bonded to a ¾" (20mm) layer of 6lb per cubic foot (96 kg/m³) high-density glass wool. Sound waves pass through the tissue into the wool causing the minute glass fibers to vibrate, absorbing sound energy. The acoustic panel is then laminated to a ½" (13mm) layer of heavy gypsum board. This adds the extra ‘sound-blocking' mass that stops from sound traveling between adjacent rooms through the air space ‘plenum' above the panels.
Designed to retrofit into existing T-Bar systems, ThunderTiles are available in both square 24″ x 24″ (60cm x 60cm) and rectangular 24″ x 48″ (60cm x 120cm) panel sizes. Choose between a space saving ‘trim' edge treatment (in the 24 x 24 and 24 x 48 size panel) for flush-mounting, or the ‘reveal' edge (in the 24 x 24 size panel) that drops down below the T-Bar to produce an architecturally sculpted appearance. Panels are finished in Absolute White™ for optimum reflectance and may also be painted to suit. Cutting out panels for light fixtures, ventilation and ceiling speakers follows the same cut and position process used with regular ceiling tiles. But unlike low-cost mineral wool tiles, ThunderTiles will not sag due to moisture. This makes them particularly well suited for use in regions with fluctuating temperatures and humidity levels.
The ThunderTile has been fully tested to meet the stringent ASTM-E84 fire and smoke development requirements for Class-A/1 designation and safe use anywhere. ThunderTiles combine a highly absorptive acoustic panel with the sound blocking attributes of gypsum making them the perfect solution for conference rooms, music rooms, home theatres, call centers, doctor's offices, and restaurants… in fact any room where echo from hard surfaces can reduce intelligibility and noise abatement is required.
Primacoustic’s collection of absorptive acoustic clouds are a tasteful and unobtrusive option for reducing reverberations and improving intelligibility, in any space. The range of unique shapes and sizes on offer opens the door for architects, designers and installers to present clients with creative solutions that are bold, yet architecturally pleasing. The Clouds are designed to hang from the ceiling, capturing ambient energy by absorbing sound as it hits the face of the panel, all while trapping powerful reflections from the ceiling on the back side of the panel. They can also be used as baffles or wall panels, depending on the situation.
The Primacoustic Acoustic Cloud range includes the circular Halo™, the hexagonal Hexus™, the square Altos™, and rectangular Nimbus™. All panels are made from 1.5″ (3.8cm) thick, high-density 6lb per cubic foot (96 kg/m³) glass wool for exceptionally even absorption. Each is completely encapsulated in micromesh with resin hardened edges. The acoustic panel is then covered in either Broadway™ acoustically transparent fabric or coated in Primacoustic’s proprietary Absolute White paintable finish. This paintable textured surface enables one to lightly spray paint the panels on-site to match the surrounding décor without affecting acoustical performance.
As with all Primacoustic panels, the Clouds are laboratory tested for acoustic performance as well as fire safety, achieving the most stringent Class-A/1 rating in North America and Class-B in Europe, making them safe for use in all types of installations.
The Clouds can be suspended horizontally from the ceiling, in spaces such as restaurants, lobbies, gymnasiums or any other space where discreet acoustic treatment is desired. Installation is easy. Each kit includes two high-density glass wool panels and plus the hardware required to mount them as horizontal suspended clouds. The Panels can also be wall mounted using Surface Impalers or installed as vertically hanging baffles using Corkscrew™ anchors (sold separately).

The Primacoustic Stratus is an acoustical device that suspends above the recording console to control early reflections, flutter echo, and to help eliminate standing waves that cause resonant peaks in the critical mix position. Once in place, you will immediately enjoy a more controlled and intimate acoustic environment, larger sweet spot, and reduced ear fatigue.
Attractive and very affordable, the Stratus ships in kit form and is easily put together in minutes using a simple screw driver. The kit includes a 2″ thick, 24″ x 48″ acoustic panel made from high density 6lb per cubic foot (96 kg/m³) glass wool and suspension hardware. The glass wool is encapsulated with micromesh and the edges are resin treated to retain the minute fibres. For an attractive appearance, the panel is covered in an acoustically transparent fabric.
The suspension hardware consists of two light-weight aluminum rails and “L" brackets that form a rigid frame around the panel. To hang the Stratus, simply attach the included suspension wire to the frame. Hardware and fasteners for sheet-rock ceilings are included in the kit. Typically, the Stratus would be suspended above the console and clustered in an array spanning the width of your console and listening area.
The Stratus absorbs sound energy by converting it to heat. Sound energy traveling via air vibrations penetrates the panel causing the minute glass fibres to vibrate and generate heat. This thermo-dynamic energy transfer effectively absorbs directional sound energy and prevents it from reflecting into the mix position.
By itself, the 2″ thick glass wool panel is 100% effective for frequencies between 400Hz and 20kHz (see the acoustic absorption chart). To help control a broader frequency spectrum, the Stratus may be angled to vary the air space between the Stratus and the ceiling. This allows the backing surface to also absorb reflections off the ceiling.
Corners are the acoustician's best friend. Walls and ceiling act as wave guides that drive energy into the corner where maximum pressure is created. Primacoustic Corner Impaler is designed to work with 24″ x 48″ (60.96cm x 121.92cm) Broadway Broadband absorbers to provide effective absorption in this critical zone by combining this high-density glass-wool panel with a deep 17″ (43.18cm) cavity to deliver effective bass control.
The Corner Impaler features a unique wedge shaped design with four pivoting darts. This allows a single device to be used on either the left or right hand side when corner mounting the Broadway panel. To make installation as easy as possible, extra cutouts allow a regular screwdriver direct access to the mounting points.
Primacoustic surface-mount impalers are designed to hang Broadway acoustic panels directly onto the wall surface like a picture. The simple installation process makes them quick & easy to use and particularly effective if you plan to relocate your panels in the future.
Shipped 24 to a box, each Surface Impaler is equipped with four triangular shaped darts that protrude from a galvanized steel plate. Installation is easy in plaster board, sheetrock or masonry using the triple action Cobra Anchors. For wood, screwing or nailing works great. You can even use Velcro on the back of the Surface Impaler should you prefer this type of temporary installation.
Primacoustic Push-On Impaler has been developed to increase the speed of installation for commercial contractors. This employs a series of sharp, protruding darts that allow the acoustic panel to be precisely positioned on the wall without having to fret about a hanging offset. The design also allows panels to be butted up end-to-end for seamless installations where larger acoustic surfaces need to be created.
Shipped 24 to a box, the Push-On Impaler is made from a heavy galvanized steel plate and is equipped with elongated mounting slots for stud mounting. Installation is equally easy in plaster board, sheetrock or masonry using the triple-action Cobra Anchors.
The Primacoustic Offset Impaler offers an effective method to increase bass absorption by introducing an air cavity behind a Broadway panel. This delivers as much as one extra octave of low frequency attenuation without any additional cost.
The U-shaped design is equipped with pivoting darts for left-hand or right-hand installations, thus allowing the same part to be used on either side of the panel. Front access holes provide easy access for a screwdriver or power drill to quicken installation. Because the Offset impaler employs a 3.5″ (8.89cm) stand-off, it matches the size of a typical two-by-four making it simple to integrate using standard building supplies during construction. This makes flush mounting easier for installations such as studios and home theaters where added bass absorption is usually desired.
Designed to suspend Primacoustic clouds and baffles, the SlipNot is a unique suspension cable system that combines aircraft steel rope with a cam-style releasable hook for easy height adjustment at one end and a simple eye-sling at the other. One merely attaches the sling to a suspension point and clips the hook onto the Primacoustic cloud or baffle using either the Corkscrew or Helix panel mounting screws.
Designed to create a vertical baffle using any Broadway or Paintables panel, the Corkscrew is a tensioned steel screw that twists into the edge of a panel for placement overhead. Combining the Corkscrew with the SlipNot enables the panel to be quickly adjusted to achieve a uniform height.
The Helix, is a solid die-cast zinc anchor that integrates an eye hole and a wide screw that create a reliable and sturdy anchor for hanging any Primacoustic panel as an acoustic cloud using the adjustable SlipNot™ suspension system.
Perfect for installations where panels need to be mounted securely, the Rotofast Snap-On Anchor locks the panel onto any flat surface. Simply twist the anchor into the panel using the included tool, and attach the corresponding locking pins to the wall or ceiling. The panel clicks and locks onto these pins, providing safe overhead/ceiling mounting and secure wall installations in high traffic areas. 50 Anchors per package, 1 hand tool and 6 marking plugs included.
PrimaBlock™ loaded vinyl barrier is a flexible, 1lb per square foot (4.9kg/m²) mass loaded vinyl that is used in construction to reduce sound transmission through walls, floors and ceilings. Typically sandwiched between layers of drywall or ideally suspended in the airspace between wall surfaces, PrimaBlock barrier helps reduce noise from plumbing, HVAC ducts and adjoining rooms by adding mass to the wall assembly. It is also commonly used in the design and construction of soundproof enclosures and bass traps, or can be wrapped around pipes, ductwork or loud machinery because it is so flexible.
