The Berkeley window was originally created in order to replicate existing 1920's and 1930's steel windows that were predominately single pane leaded glass, exterior putty glazed. The Berkeley window, a registered design, has a solid steel chamfer that replicates the putty glazed exterior, while allowing interior glazing, thereby improving access for reglazing and security.
