          PART 3EXECUTION
 
          3.1EXAMINATION
 
          A.Installer shall examine substrates and conditions under which this work is to be performed and notify Architect in writing, of conditions detrimental to the proper completion of the work. Do not proceed with work until unsatisfactory conditions are corrected. Beginning of installation will be construed as Installer accepting substrates and conditions.
 
          B.Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.
 
          C.Verify drain location and compatibility with drain system specified.
 
          D.If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
 
          3.2PREPARATION
 
          A.Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
 
          B.Prepare surfaces by removing all debris, sharp edges and protrusions that could damage the waterproof integrity of the system.
 
          C.Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
 
          3.3INSTALLATION
 
          A.Install linear shower drains in strict compliance with manufacturer's instructions and recommendations and approved details.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Affords users greater stability. The multi-way slope in a traditional round drain shower makes it very difficult to steady a wheelchair and can be hazardous to those with stability issues. Delete if not required.
 
          B.ADA Accessible Design (Zero Entry): Installation shall be a single plane slope using a linear drain shower pan. Installation shall be installed on a flat floor sloped to the full width of the shower entry.
 
          C.Coordinate with installation of other components specified, and with setting materials for floor finish materials.
 
          D.Water Testing: Test all drains together with shower pans after installation of the waterproofing prior to tile installation. Testing duration shall be a minimum of 24 hours under 2 inches (51 mm) of water.
 
          3.4CLEANING
 
          A.Clean exposed surfaces using manufacturer recommended materials and methods. Remove and replace work which is damaged or which cannot be successfully cleaned.
 
          B.Test all drain systems to verify compliance with specified requirements.
 
          3.5PROTECTION
 
          A.Protect installed products until completion of project.
 
          B.Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
