Store and handle in strict compliance with manufacturer's written instructions and recommendations.

HIDDEN COUNTERTOP SUPPORTS FOR KNEE AND PONY WALL APPLICATIONS

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** For applications where countertop is mounted on a "knee" or "pony" wall. Creates a "floating" effect without use of corbels or large brackets. Brackets remain hidden from view eliminates the knocking of knees on legs or other large supports. Delete if not required.

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** If you expect a lot of traffic; commercial application or family with a bunch of kids, the Forward L countertop support may be the best choice. We also recommend it for overhangs of 18 inches or more as it provides extra mounting points on the flange that allows you to attach the bracket not only to the cap of the knee / pony wall but to the vertical studs as well.

The Forward L Countertop Support is a versatile bracket. It is also used in countertop island support applications. Most commercial cabinetry is made of particle board and is not suitable for directly attaching a bracket, corbel or other load bearing support. This means the inside - top - back wall of the cabinet will need to be reinforced or "gusseted" with a 2 x 4. To attach the gusset we typically use Liquid Nail as an adhesive and clamp the 2 x 4 in place until the adhesive dries. For more detailed instruction please see our installation guide for this countertop support bracket. Delete if not required.

Hidden Countertop Support Brackets - Commercial: Hidden Countertop Brackets are precision laser cut and built of 1/4 x 3.5 inch (6 x 89 mm) hot rolled American Steel. They are designed to support countertop overhangs up to 14 inches (356 mm) deep.

Laser cut for precision.

Material: .25 x 3.5 inch (6 x 89 mm) hot rolled sourced steel.

Finish: Professionally finished with TGIC weather resistant powder coating suitable for both interior or exterior applications.

HIDDEN COUNTERTOP SUPPORTS FOR KITCHEN ISLANDS

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** For supporting heavy countertops such as granite, quartz or butcher-block in an application where no knee wall exists and countertop extends directly off the base cabinets.
A solid 1/2 inch by 2 1/2 inch steel bar that runs through the base cabinet and extends to the length of the overhang minus a couple of inches to keep the countertop support hidden from view. The countertop support has a 1/2 inch x 4 inch flange on the back that mounts via two screws (the screws are provided with the countertop support) to the inside of the cabinet face frame. The flange is short, hidden from view and does not interfere with the operation of the drawers. The countertop support then runs through the cabinet and rests in a 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch notch in the back side of the cabinet.
Before the countertop is mounted we suggest that the installer apply a bead of "Liquid Nail" on the top of the countertop support.
Once mounted the countertop support creates a cantilever, leveraging the weight of the countertop as well as the 1/2 inch steel. It's a great bracket and perfect for most Countertop Islands. Delete if not required.

Countertop Island Support System: Custom design system using lap joints to create a custom bracket specific to your design.

Once mounted the countertop support creates a cantilever, leveraging the weight of the countertop as well as the 1/2 inch steel. Perfect for multiple overhangs.

Information required by the Manufacturer:

Length of Both Overhangs: The amount of countertop that extends beyond the cabinet wall.

Direction overhang extends off the cabinet. Direction is determined when standing in front of your cabinets, usually on the kitchen side, where you would open the drawers/doors

Cabinet dimensions and whether or not it is a frameless cabinet.

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Our Front Mounting Countertop Supports for granite or other solid surface applications are designed to be mounted directly to a stud or used with a backing plate in either an existing installation or in a new installation. These countertop supports can provide support for countertop overhangs up to 16 inches. To size the bracket simply subtract 2-4 inches of the total overhang length. These countertop support brackets are specifically designed for granite or other solid surface applications. The brackets can be mounted directly to a stud, masonry or used with a backing plate in either an existing installation or in a new installation. Built out of heavy duty 3/8 x 2.5 inch A36 steel and professionally powder coated, the countertop brackets have a 35 degree bevel on both the horizontal and vertical flanges and four countersunk 1/4 inch holes in the vertical plate to secure the bracket in place. HIDDEN COUNTERTOP SUPPORTS FOR SPECIALTY APPLICATIONS

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** The Floating Wall Mount Countertop Support Bracket is the perfect hidden support bracket for floating heavy, solid surface materials such as granite or quartz directly off a floor-to-ceiling wall. We see these brackets used to float everything from granite countertops, vanities, hardwood desks, glass shelves, etc. If you need to remove sheet rock in order to mount you brackets you can easily patch the sheet rock with a "quick patch" kit available at your local hardware store. EXECUTION

3.1

EXAMINATION

Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly constructed and prepared.

If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect in writing of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

3.2

PREPARATION

Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.

Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.

3.3

INSTALLATION

Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions approved submittals and in proper relationship with adjacent construction.

3.4

FIELD QUALITY CONTROL

Field Inspection: Coordinate field inspection in accordance with appropriate sections in Division 01.
