          1.6PRE-INSTALLATION CONFERENCE
 
          A.Convene a conference approximately two weeks before scheduled commencement of the Work. Attendees shall include Architect, Contractor and trades involved. Agenda shall include schedule, responsibilities, critical path items and approvals.
 
          1.7DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
 
          A.Store and handle in strict compliance with manufacturer's written instructions and recommendations.
 
          B.Protect from damage due to weather, excessive temperature, and construction operations.
 
          1.8PROJECT CONDITIONS
 
          A.Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.

          2.2PERFORMANCE AND DESIGN REQUIREMENTS
 
          A.Evenly cover every board to ensure consistent, high quality finishes on all material and to protect the life of the finish.
          1.No shrink lines, lap marks, streaking and over-spraying.
 
          B.Onsite staining or painting is not acceptable.
 
          C.Pre-Finishing Process:
          1.Material is stored inside and away from elements so it is free of dust and debris.
          2.Prior to prefinishing, material is brought to an ideal temperature.
          3.Each board is hand fed into a prefinisher.
          4.As boards run through the machine, they are covered with stain or paint.
          5.Boards progress though the prefinisher with pinch drive rollers as machine evenly spreads the appropriate amount of stain or paint onto each board.
          6.Brushes and/or an air knife remove excess stain or paint and ensure boards have the same recommended mill thickness coating and entire grain pattern and every crevice are filled with stain or paint.
          7.Material is then dried at the same rate by either a special oven or racked to air-dry.

          3.1EXAMINATION
 
          A.Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly constructed and prepared.
 
          B.If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect in writing of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
 
          3.2PREPARATION
 
          A.Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
 
          B.Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
 
          3.3INSTALLATION
 
          A.Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, approved submittals, and in proper relationship with adjacent construction.
 
          3.4FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
 
          A.Field Inspection: Coordinate field inspection in accordance with appropriate sections in Division 01.
