          PART 1GENERAL

          C.Verification Samples: Two representative units of each type, size, pattern, and color.
 
          D.Shop Drawings: Include details of materials, construction, and finish. Include relationship with adjacent construction.
 
          E.Delegated-Design Submittal: For installed products indicated to comply with performance requirements and design criteria, including analysis data signed and sealed by the qualified professional engineer responsible for their preparation.
 
          F.Qualification Data: Submit qualifications for professional engineer.
 
          1.5QUALITY ASSURANCE
 
          A.Engineering Responsibility: Preparation of shop drawings, design calculations, and other structural data by a qualified professional engineer.
 
          B.Professional Engineer Qualifications: A professional engineer who is legally qualified to practice within the jurisdiction where the Project is located and who is experienced in providing engineering services of the kind indicated. Engineering services are defined as those performed for installations or framing that are similar to those indicated for this Project in material, design, and extent.
 
          C.Manufacturer Qualifications: Company specializing in manufacturing products specified in this section with a minimum five years documented experience.
 
          D.Installer Qualifications: Company specializing in performing Work of this section with minimum two years documented experience with projects of similar scope and complexity.
 
          E.Source Limitations: Provide each type of product from a single manufacturing source to ensure uniformity.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Include mock-up if the project size or quality warrant the expense. The following is one example of how a mock-up on might be specified. When deciding on the extent of the mock-up, consider all the major different types of work on the project.
 
          F.Mock-Up: Construct a mock-up with actual materials in sufficient time for Architect's review and to not delay construction progress. Locate mock-up as acceptable to Architect and provide temporary foundations and support.
          1.Intent of mock-up is to demonstrate quality of workmanship and visual appearance.
          2.If mock-up is not acceptable, rebuild mock-up until satisfactory results are achieved.
          3.Retain mock-up during construction as a standard for comparison with completed work.
          4.Do not alter or remove mock-up until work is completed or removal is authorized.
 
          1.6PRE-INSTALLATION CONFERENCE
 
          A.Convene a conference approximately two weeks before scheduled commencement of the Work. Attendees shall include Architect, Contractor and trades involved. Agenda shall include schedule, responsibilities, critical path items and approvals.
 
          1.7DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
 
          A.Store and handle in strict compliance with manufacturer's written instructions and recommendations.
 
          B.Protect from damage due to weather, excessive temperature, and construction operations.
 
          1.8PROJECT CONDITIONS
 
          A.Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.
 
          1.9WARRANTY
 
          A.Manufacturer's standard limited warranty unless indicated otherwise.
 
          B.Stand-Off MPV Bracket: Manufacturer warrants product to be free of defects in workmanship and materials for life of structure. If any product proves to contain manufacturing defects that substantially affect its performance, the manufacturer, at their option, will replace it or refund its purchase price. The dollar value of manufacturer's liability shall not exceed the purchase price of the material in question
 
          PART 2PRODUCTS
 
          2.1MANUFACTURERS

          B.Substitutions: Not permitted.
 
          C.Requests for substitutions will be considered in accordance with provisions of Section 01 60 00 - Product Requirements.
 
          2.2PERFORMANCE AND DESIGN REQUIREMENTS
 
          A.Delegated Design: Design support system and framing, including comprehensive engineering analysis by a qualified professional engineer, using performance requirements and design criteria indicated.
 
          B.Structural Performance: Provide support system and framing capable of withstanding design loads within limits and under conditions indicated.
          1.Design Loads: As required by code and not less than indicated on the Structural Drawings
 
          C.Cladding Fastener Rail Support Brackets:
          1.Virtually eliminate thermal bridging of metal panel veneer attachment system through the continuous insulation over the sheathing in metal framed building exterior walls.
          2.Eliminate need for shimming metal panel attachment system by providing adjustability.
          3.Provide for mechanical fastening of rigid and semi-rigid continuous insulation.
          4.Accommodate various thicknesses of insulation.
          5.Structural components of bracket are fireproof to comply with IBC requirements.
          6.Engineered for 16 inch ( mm) horizontal x 48 inch ( mm) vertical spacing.
          7.Compressive Strength: 550 lbs (2446.5 N)
          8.Tensile Strength: 550 lbs (2446.5 N)
          9.Flexural Strength: 60 lbs (267 N) at 1 inch (25 mm) maximum extension
 
          2.3CLADDING SUPPORT SYSTEM
 
          A.Non-combustible cladding support system that will allow for continuous insulation as defined by the International Energy Code, engineered to support the exterior wall cladding dead loads, and dynamic loads specific to the Project

          1.Mechanically fasten the continuous insulation.
 
          B.Components:
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** The Stand-Off MPV Bracket is an adjustable bracket used for fastening of rain screen panel veneers to above grade exterior walls in buildings. The bracket was developed specifically to facilitate the compliance of metal panel veneers with the 2012, 2015 and 2018 IEC requirements for continuous insulation over the exterior sheathing in metal framed walls in Climate Zones 4 through 8.
          1.Basis of Design: Stand-Off MPV Bracket by EXO-TEC Manufacturing, Inc. Cladding Fastener Rail Support Brackets:
          a.Material: C1008/1010 CR steel with zinc and yellow chromate plating conforming to ASTM B633 Fe/Zn 25 Type II.
          b.Material: 304 stainless steel.
          c.Flat Top Plate: 12 ga 3 inch (76 mm) diameter.
          1)Spacer Rod: 1/4 inch (6 mm) diameter, 1-1/2 inch (38 mm) long male threaded PEM stud fastened through center of the flat top plate.
          d.Female Threaded Coupling: 3/8 inch (9.5 mm) diameter.
          1)Length: Match thickness of continuous insulation.
          e.Flat Base Plate: 12 ga 2-1/2 x 3 inch (64 x 76 mm).
          1)Stud: 1/4 inch diameter by 1/2 inch long male threaded PEM fastened through center of base plate.
          2)Apertures: Two, 1/4 inch diameter located above and below the PEM stud.
          3)Polycarbonate Insulation Retainer: 1/8 inch (3 mm) thick. 3 inch (76 mm) diameter with 1/4 inch diameter threaded aperture in center for the mechanical fastening of continuous insulation.
          2.Cladding Fastener Rail:
          a.Material: C1008/101 CR flat steel of gage specified by structural engineer to meet requirements of project G90 hot-dipped galvanized per ASTM A653.
          1)Furring: Hat profile. Dimensions as detailed on the Drawings.
          2)Furring: Z profile. Dimensions as detailed on the Drawings.
          3)Furring: Flat profile. Dimensions as detailed on the Drawings.
          3.Fasteners For Fastening Base Plates to Back-up Wall: Size to be specified by professional engineer.
          a.Carbon steel hex head screws; Teks self-drilling tip and neoprene washer plated with Climaseal ACR coating by ITW Buildex or equal.
          b.Stainless steel hex head screws; Teks self-drilling tip and neoprene washer plated with Climaseal ACR coating by ITW Buildex or equal.
          4.Fasteners For Fastening Cladding Fastener Rail to Stand-Off MPV Bracket Top Plate: Size to be specified by professional engineer.
          a.Carbon steel hex head screws with a hex head, Teks 3 self-drilling tip plated with Climaseal ACR coating by ITW Buildex or equal.
          b.Stainless steel hex head screws with a hex head, Teks 3 self-drilling tip plated with Climaseal ACR coating by ITW Buildex or equal.
          5.Sealants for Improperly Seated Base Plates and Fasteners: Single component low modulus silicone sealant.
          a.Refer to Section 07 91 23 - Backer Rods0 - JOINT SEALANTS for requirements.
 
          PART 3EXECUTION
 
          3.1EXAMINATION
 
          A.Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly constructed and prepared.
 
          B.If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect in writing of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
 
          3.2PREPARATION
 
          A.Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
 
          B.Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
 
          3.3INSTALLATION
 
          A.Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, approved submittals, and in proper relationship with adjacent construction.
          1.Determine vertical spacing of Stand-Off MPV Bracket and mark accordingly.
          2.Install Stand-Off MPV Bracket Base Plate by centering it vertically on vertical spacing marks and in-stalling specified fasteners in top and bottom holes of base plate.
          3.Insulation: Layer by wedging rigid and semi-rigid insulation between Stand-Off MPV Bracket base plates.
          a.For rigid and semi-rigid insulation, thread insulation retainer onto threaded rod of top plate of Stand-Off MPV Bracket.
          b.Thread top plate into base plate until top face of top plate is at desired plane.
          1)Maximum Thread Exposure is 1".
          c.Thread the insulation retainer down until it is seated tightly against the rigid or semi-rigid insulation.
          4.Insulation: Apply spray foam insulation.
          a.Thread top plate into base plate until top face of top plate is at desired plane.
          1)Maximum Thread Exposure is 1".
          5.Fasten the continuous connection hardware (flat plate, z-furring, or hat furring ) to the top plate of the Stand-Off MPV Bracket with two fasteners. This will pre-vent the top plate from rotating out of the desired plane.
          6.Install the rain screen veneer bracket,
          7.Install the rain screen veneer.
 
          3.4CLEANING AND PROTECTION
 
          A.Clean products in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations.
