          1.4QUALITY ASSURANCE
 
          A.Manufacturer Qualifications: Company specializing in manufacturing products specified in this section with a minimum five years documented experience.
 
          B.Installer Qualifications: Company specializing in performing Work of this section with minimum two years documented experience with projects of similar scope and complexity.
 
          C.Source Limitations: Provide each type of product from a single manufacturing source to ensure uniformity.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Include mock-up if the project size or quality warrant the expense. The following is one example of how a mock-up on might be specified. When deciding on the extent of the mock-up, consider all the major different types of work on the project.
 
          D.Mock-Up: Construct a mock-up with actual materials in sufficient time for Architect's review and to not delay construction progress. Locate mock-up as acceptable to Architect and provide temporary foundations and support.
          1.Intent of mock-up is to demonstrate quality of workmanship and visual appearance.
          2.If mock-up is not acceptable, rebuild mock-up until satisfactory results are achieved.
          3.Retain mock-up during construction as a standard for comparison with completed work.
          4.Do not alter or remove mock-up until work is completed or removal is authorized.
 
          1.5PRE-INSTALLATION CONFERENCE
 
          A.Convene a conference approximately two weeks before scheduled commencement of the Work. Attendees shall include Architect, Contractor and trades involved. Agenda shall include schedule, responsibilities, critical path items and approvals.
 
          1.6DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
 
          A.Store and handle in strict compliance with manufacturer's written instructions and recommendations.
          1.Store boards flat, supported every 2 ft (610 mm). Improper storage from supports greater than 2 ft (610 mm) O.C. can result in a waviness that will be visible when installed.
          2.Keep boards covered and protected from dirt, debris, mortar and cementitious material.
          3.Boards are pre-finished. As with any pre-finished product care must be taken prior to installation.
 
          B.Protect from damage due to weather, excessive temperature, and construction operations.
 
          1.7PROJECT CONDITIONS
 
          A.Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.
 
          1.8WARRANTY
 
          A.Manufacturer's standard limited warranty unless indicated otherwise.

          1.Bamboo CBPVC Cladding Boards
          a.Residential Warranty: 30 years.
          b.Commercial Warranty: 15 years.
          2.Infinity CBPC Cladding Boards

          3.Fasteners for Use When Applying Boards as Cladding: If a fastener other than Hulk Fasteners are used and a condition arises attributable to that fastener, such condition shall not be covered by the Fortress Building Products Warranty.

          2.3CLADDING FASTENING HARDWARE
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** A different kind of cladding needs a different kind of fastener. Fortress® HULK products were developed using state-of-the-art technology and manufacturing methods. They work in perfect synergy with our cladding boards, and they are extremely durable and corrosion resistant for long term applications. HULK screws use an advanced bit lock system, which maximizes torque transfer for easier installation. Hulk fasteners are for decking and cladding applications only and not for ceilings or soffits. Delete options not required.

          PART 3EXECUTION
 
          3.1EXAMINATION
 
          A.Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly constructed and prepared.
 
          B.If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect in writing of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
 
          3.2PREPARATION
 
          A.Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
 
          B.Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
 
          3.3INSTALLATION
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Apex Decking is approved for applications as Cladding in a Rain Screen System. Apex may not meet the requirements of all applications. Determining the suitability for use is not the responsibility of Fortress Building Products. Delete options not required.
 
          A.Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, approved submittals, and in proper relationship with adjacent construction.
          1.Cladding is approved only for use as a cladding component in a rainscreen system-comprised of a suitable Water-Resistive Barrier and properly applied flashing and a well-constructed Ventilated Drainage Plane.
          2.Do not install cladding boards directly to a wall as siding component.
          3.May be installed in horizontal, diagonal and vertical orientations.
          4.Face fasteners with plugs, designed for cladding boards, are an alternative to HFS but screws must be pre-drilled.
          5.Boards must be a minimum 6 inches (150 mm) above soft grades like grass and landscaping and 2 inch (50 mm) above hard grades; sidewalks, roofing, etc.
          6.Fasteners must be located minimum 1 inch (25 mm) from board edges and 1 inch (25 mm) from board ends.
          7.Ensure all installers are aware of and comply with all gapping and fastener setback requirements.
 
          3.4FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
 
          A.Field Inspection: Coordinate field inspection in accordance with appropriate sections in Division 01.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Include if manufacturer provides field quality control with onsite personnel for instruction or supervision of product installation, application, erection or construction. Delete if not required.
 
          B.Manufacturer's Services: Coordinate manufacturer's services in accordance with appropriate sections in Division 01.
 
          3.5CLEANING AND PROTECTION
 
          A.Clean products in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations.
          1.Cleaning Cladding Boards:
          a.Apply soapy water to your profile with a sponge.
          b.Sweep the liquid over your profile using the hard-bristled broom, making sure to remove all dirt and residue from the gaps between the cladding boards. Sweeping in the direction of the grain is best.
          c.If residue and/or dirt are still evident, a high pressure hose is very effective in removing stubborn and unavoidable organic waste.
          d.Do not use standard composite cladding cleaners on APEX.
 
          B.Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
