Our forests are increasingly being destroyed due to fires and over-consumption. Technowood Products use 98 percent less trees in production of its products than solid wood equivalents.
We provide a category of products with natural wood veneering over structural profiles. This durable, sturdy and attractive wood alternative won't degrade even in harsh outdoor conditions and requires little to no maintenance compared to solid wood products. It can be utilized wherever wood products are used; interior and exterior spaces as well as facade, siding, soffit and railing systems.
Our three main substrate materials are aluminum, aluminum composite, and glass-fiber reinforced polyesters (GRP). The superior performance of our products cannot be achieved with plain wood. This provides designers with the option to design more unique projects.

          1.5QUALITY ASSURANCE

          A.Manufacturer Qualifications: Company specializing in manufacturing products specified in this section with a minimum twelve years documented experience.
          1.Must be listed as a manufacturer by the FSC Forest Stewardship Council.
 
          B.Installer Qualifications: Company specializing in performing Work of this section with minimum three years documented experience with projects of similar scope and complexity.
 
          C.Source Limitations: Provide each type of product from a single manufacturing source to ensure uniformity.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Include mock-up if the project size or quality warrant the expense. The following is one example of how a mock-up on might be specified. When deciding on the extent of the mock-up, consider all the major different types of work on the project.
 
          D.Mock-Up: Construct a mock-up with actual materials in sufficient time for Architect's review and to not delay construction progress. Locate mock-up as acceptable to Architect and provide temporary foundations and support.
          1.Intent of mock-up is to demonstrate quality of workmanship and visual appearance.
          2.If mock-up is not acceptable, rebuild mock-up until satisfactory results are achieved.
          3.Retain mock-up during construction as a standard for comparison with completed work.

          E.Performance and Design Requirements:

          1.6PRE-INSTALLATION CONFERENCE
 
          A.Convene a conference approximately two weeks before scheduled commencement of the Work. Attendees shall include Architect, Contractor and trades involved. Agenda shall include schedule, responsibilities, critical path items and approvals.
 
          1.7DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
 
          A.Store and handle in strict compliance with manufacturer's written instructions and recommendations.
          1.Store products in manufacturer's unopened and undamaged packaging with label intact in a clean, dry indoor location until ready for installation.
 
          B.Protect from damage due to weather, excessive temperature, and construction operations.
          1.Stack all materials to prevent damage and to allow for adequate ventilation.
          2.Elevate one end to promote drainage.
          3.Protect products from contact with materials that could cause staining or discoloration of the finish.
 
          1.8PROJECT CONDITIONS
 
          A.Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.
          1.Do not install panels over wet or frozen substrate.
 
          1.9COORDINATION
 
          A.Coordinate Work with installation of windows, louvers, and adjacent components or materials.
 
          1.10WARRANTY

          PART 3EXECUTION
 
          3.1EXAMINATION
 
          A.Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly constructed and prepared.
 
          B.If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect in writing of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
 
          3.2PREPARATION
 
          A.Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
 
          B.Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
 
          3.3INSTALLATION
 
          A.Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions approved submittals and in proper relationship with adjacent construction.
          1.Do not install over cementitious materials, dissimilar metals or pressure treated material without adequate barrier protection.
          2.Weather lap edges 6 inches (150 mm) and ends at a minimum 6 inches (150 mm).
          3.Stagger vertical joints of each layer.
          4.Fasten siding to structural supports; aligned, level, and plumb.
          5.Locate joints over supports.
          6.Install expansion control joints where indicated.
          7.Use concealed fasteners unless otherwise approved by Architect.
          8.Install siding over T profiles, from the bottom up, using 0.165 x 0.79 inch (4.2 x 20 mm) self-drilling screws.
          a.Siding shall be screwed every 24 inches (600 mm) maximum. Before the upper siding is put in its installation slot, backing rod should be crossed to its knob.
          b.Backing rods which are approximately 3.15 inch (80 mm) long are applied in pieces, starting 2 inch (50 mm) inside from both the top and the bottom, with 11.81 inch (300 mm) intervals, in order to maintain isolation for noise and for the siding to be able to breath.
          c.Expansion allowance should be left at the ends and corners according to the used length of siding.
 
          3.4FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
 
          A.Field Inspection: Coordinate field inspection in accordance with appropriate sections in Division 01.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Include if manufacturer provides field quality control with onsite personnel for instruction or supervision of product installation, application, erection or construction. Delete if not required.
 
          B.Manufacturer's Services: Coordinate manufacturer's services in accordance with appropriate sections in Division 01.
 
          3.5CLEANING AND PROTECTION
 
          A.Clean products in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations.
 
          B.Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
 
          3.6MAINTENANCE
 
          A.Varnish Pretreatment and Application:
          1.Surface: Free of foreign materials, oils, old paint residue, silicon and dust. A foam/sponge or 220 grit sandpaper can be used to complete.
          2.Roller or Brush: apply 2 or 3 coats of varnish to surface. Follow instructions from varnish producer.
          3.Ideal Application Temperatures: From 59 to 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C). Do not apply at temperatures below 50 degrees F (10 degrees C).
          4.Relative Humidity During Application: Less than 80 percent. For maintenance, spring or summer months are preferred.
          5.Disposal and/or recycling of varnish and packaging to be per local codes.
          6.Safety: Keep away from children. Avoid eye or skin contact. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and consult a physician.
          7.Recommended reapplication: Varies depending on exposure to sunlight, the varnish color, and application angle.
          a.Vertical Applications (facades, etc.):
          1)Light Colors: 5 years.
          2)Dark Colors: 10 years.
          b.Horizontal Applications (rooftops, etc.):
          1)Light Colors: 5 years.
          2)Dark Colors: 10 years.
