          1.5SUBMITTALS
 
          A.Submit under provisions of Section 01 30 00 - Administrative Requirements.
 
          B.Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:
          1.Preparation instructions and recommendations.
          2.Siding materials, underlayment, flashings, fasteners and accessories.
          3.Dimensions, physical properties, and typical details.
          4.Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.
          5.Installation methods.
 
          C.Shop Drawings: Layout, dimensions, weatherproofing, penetrations, terminations, trim, and installation methods.

          D.Selection Samples: For each finish product specified, two complete sets of color chips representing manufacturer's full range of available colors and patterns and including

          1.6QUALITY ASSURANCE
 
          A.Manufacturer Qualifications: Minimum 5 years experience manufacturing similar products.
 
          B.Installer Qualifications: Provide installer with not less than two years of experience with products specified.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Include a mock-up if the project size and/or quality warrant taking such a precaution. The following is one example of how a mock-up on a large project might be specified. When deciding on the extent of the mock-up, consider all the major different types of work on the project.
 
          C.Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship.

          1.7DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
 
          A.Deliver and store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging bearing the brand name and manufacturer's identification until ready for installation.
 
          B.Store products off the ground, within manufacturer's temperature and environmental limits, away from moisture, protected from traffic and construction activities.
 
          C.Prevent contact with materials capable of causing discoloration or staining.
 
          1.8SEQUENCING
 
          A.Ensure that products of this section are supplied to affected trades in time to prevent interruption of construction progress.
 
          1.9PROJECT CONDITIONS
 
          A.Field Measurement: Verify field conditions prior to shop drawings or fabrications.
 
          B.Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.
 
          1.10WARRANTY
 
          A.Provide manufacturer's limited 50 year warranty against hail and limited 35 years against chalk and fade.

          PART 3EXECUTION
 
          3.1EXAMINATION
 
          A.Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared. Verify dimensions and acceptability of substrate
 
          B.Verify weather barrier installation is complete and ready for the installation of aluminum siding.
 
          C.If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
 
          3.2PREPARATION
 
          A.Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
 
          B.Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
 
          3.3INSTALLATION
 
          A.Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
 
          B.Installation of vapor retarder is specified in Section 07 27 19 - Plastic Sheet Air Barriers .
 
          C.Install flashings over head condition of openings as indicated on Drawings. Lap weather barrier over flashing
 
          D.Attach to substrate for weathertight installation; ensure that horizontal components are installed true to level, that vertical components are installed true to plumb.
 
          E.Space accessory and trim nails at minimum 12 inches (304.8 mm) on center; center nails in nailing slots without binding to allow for thermal movement.
 
          F.Space siding nails at minimum 16 inches (406.4 mm) on center; center nails in nailing slots without binding to allow for thermal movement.
 
          G.Stagger lap joints in horizontal siding in uniform pattern as successive courses of siding are installed.
 
          H.Install joint sealers are specified in Section 07 90 00 - Joint Protection.
 
          3.4ADJUSTING AND CLEANING
 
          A.Clean dirt from surface of installed products, using mild soap and water.
 
          B.After completing installation, remove from project site excess materials and debris resulting from installation of vinyl products.
 
          3.5PROTECTION
 
          A.Protect installed products until completion of project.
 
          B.Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
