          4.Typical installation methods.
 
          C.Shop Drawings: Include details of materials, construction and finish. Include relationship with adjacent construction.
 
          1.5QUALITY ASSURANCE
 
          A.Manufacturer Qualifications: Company specializing in manufacturing products specified in this section with a minimum five years documented experience.
 
          B.Installer Qualifications: Company specializing in performing Work of this section with minimum two years documented experience with projects of similar scope and complexity.
 
          C.Source Limitations: Provide each type of product from a single manufacturing source to ensure uniformity.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Include mock-up if the project size or quality warrant the expense. The following is one example of how a mock-up on might be specified. When deciding on the extent of the mock-up, consider all the major different types of work on the project. Delete if not required.
 
          D.Mock-Up: Construct a mock-up with actual materials in sufficient time for Architect's review and to not delay construction progress. Locate mock-up as acceptable to Architect and provide temporary foundations and support.
          1.Intent of mock-up is to demonstrate quality of workmanship and visual appearance.
          2.If mock-up is not acceptable, rebuild mock-up until satisfactory results are achieved.
          3.Retain mock-up during construction as a standard for comparison with completed work.
          4.Do not alter or remove mock-up until work is completed or removal is authorized.
 
          1.6PRE-INSTALLATION CONFERENCE
 
          A.Convene a conference approximately two weeks before scheduled commencement of the Work. Attendees shall include Architect, Contractor and trades involved. Agenda shall include schedule, responsibilities, critical path items and approvals.
 
          1.7DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
 
          A.Store and handle in strict compliance with manufacturer's written instructions and recommendations.
 
          B.Protect from damage due to weather, excessive temperature, and construction operations.
 
          1.8PROJECT CONDITIONS
 
          A.Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.
 
          1.9SEQUENCING
 
          A.Ensure that products of this section are supplied to affected trades in time to prevent interruption of construction progress.
 
          1.10WARRANTY
 
          A.Manufacturer's Warranty: Provide manufacturer's standard limited warranty.

          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Currently, doors on the market all have the same problem in that they are mounted at the plane of the duct, and extension rods, insulation layers, and cover plates are then added. The problem is, all of these items need to be removed to access the duct for cleaning. Easy Access Grease Duct Door solves this by having an insulated frame and allowing the hinged door to open at the plane of the wrapped system. A fail proof system, with nothing to remove, drop, or set aside, avoiding incorrect reinstallation. Just open, clean, and close! Delete if not required.
 
          2.2GREASE DUCT DOOR
 
          A.Basis of Design: Easy Access Grease Duct Door; as manufactured by FireShield, LLC.
          1.A hinged cover and quick access captive fasteners allow for opening and closing of door in seconds.
          2.Compression gasket plate assembly keeps grease in the duct.
          3.Door body frame installs separately, allowing wrap to butt to it, eliminating seams and taping.

          b.Listed with Intertek for use with Intertek approved fire resistive grease duct enclosure systems.
          c.NFPA 96 compliant.
          2.Pre-insulated in accordance with ASTM E2336.
          3.No fasteners penetrating duct walls.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** BarriBox solves the existing problem of protecting the membrane penetrations created in fire rated wall by shower valves. This is perhaps the most overlooked firestop item due to the complexities of a moving valve, numerous supply lines, and often a non-metallic escutcheon plate. BarriBox can be inserted into a wall for new construction, or slipped over existing pipes in a retrofit application. Delete if not required.
 
          2.3SHOWER VALVE MEMBRANE PENETRATION BOX
 
          A.Basis of Design: BarriBox; as manufactured by FireShield, LLC.
          1.Construction: Galvanized steel with separate back piece to allow for retrofit applications.
          2.Slots in box allow for running supply lines through the mat material.

          1.Construction: High temperature fire board back with sides of a flexible intumescent mat material that fold inward when inserted, sealing the framed opening.

          A.Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
 
          B.Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
 
          3.3INSTALLATION
 
          A.Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, approved submittals and in proper relationship with adjacent construction.
 
          3.4CLEANING AND PROTECTION
 
          A.Clean products in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations.
 
          B.Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
