A.

Independently tested data listing performance criteria and Owner's manual including installation instructions and methods.

QUALITY ASSURANCE
A.
Manufacturer: Provide complete, precision built, engineered, pre-fitted unit by a single source manufacturer with at least 30 years experience in providing folding/sliding door systems for large openings in the North American market.
1.
The manufacturer must have a quality system registration per ISO 9001:2008.
2.
The manufacturer must have an environmental management system registration per ISO 1401:2005.
B.
Performance Requirements: Provide from manufacturer that has independently tested typical units. Testing results to include air infiltration in accordance with ASTM E 283, water penetration in accordance with ASTM E 547, structural loading in accordance with ASTM E 330, and forced entry in accordance with AAMA 1303/1304 or ASTM F 842.

Installer Qualifications:

Installer experienced in the installation of manufacturer's products or other similar products for large openings.

Installer to provide reference list of at least 3 projects of similar scale and complexity successfully completed in the last 3 years.
3.
Provide project names, locations, completion dates, names and telephone numbers of General Contractor and Owner's contact person.

DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
A.
Deliver materials to job site in sealed, unopened cartons or crates.
1.
Upon receipt, inspect the shipment to ensure it is complete, in good condition and meets project requirements.
B.
Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation. Store flat in a well ventilated area out of direct sunlight under cover in a clean and dry location. Protect units against weather and defacement or damage from construction activities, especially to the edges of panels.
1.6
PROJECT CONDITIONS
A.
Field Measurements: Contractor to field verify dimensions of rough openings (R.O.) and inset components. Mark field measurements on shop drawing submittal.

WARRANTY
A.
Warranty: Manufacturer's standard warranty against defects in materials and workmanship and as follows:

Seal Failure of Insulated Glazing: 10 years.

Clear Gasket UV Resistance: Five years.
4.
All Other Components (excluding screens): Five years beginning with the earliest of 120 days from date of delivery by manufacturer or date of Substantial Completion.

A.
Wood-Framed Glass Wall System Construction:

Construction: Wood-framing includes close tolerance mortise and tenon, glued and pinned corners.

Frame and Panels: Manufacturer's profiles; head jamb, side jambs, and panels with dimensions shown on Drawings.

Weatherstripping:
a.
Manufacturer's double layer EPDM between panels and EPDM gasket.

Brush seal between panel and frame.

Brush seals with two-layer polyamide fin attached to inner and outer edge of door panels with a recessed sill, or on frame for sealing between panels and between panel and frame.

PART 3 EXECUTION
 
3.1
EXAMINATION
A.
Because of the large dimensions involved and the weight and movement of the panels, verify the structural integrity of the header such that the maximum deflection with both the live and dead loads is limited to be the lesser of L/720 of the span and 1/4 inches (6 mm). Provide structural support for lateral loads, and both wind load and eccentric load when the panels are stacked open.
B.
Examine surfaces of openings and verify dimensions. Verify rough openings are level, plumb, and square, with no unevenness, bowing, or bumps on floor. Do not begin installation until openings have been properly prepared.
3.2
PREPARATION
A.
Prepare openings using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
3.3
INSTALLATION
A.
Install frame in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and installation instructions. Properly flash and waterproof around the perimeter of the opening.
B.
Securely attach anchorage devices to rigidly fit frame in place, level, straight, plumb and square. Install frame in proper elevation, plane and location, and in proper alignment with other work.
C.
When lower track is designed to drain, provide connections to allow for drainage.
D.
Install panels, handles, lockset and accessories in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and instructions.
