Summitville Tiles has evolved as a small producer of highway paving brick founded by F H Johnson in 1912, into a regional producer of commercial and residential face brick from the 1930's to the late 1940's, into a diversified producer today of premium grade quarry tiles, heavy-duty industrial floor brick, precision sized thin brick, plus a full line of cementitious and epoxy resin installation and tile care products, which are shipped all over the world.

          1.Facial Dimensions per ASTM C499: Not to vary more than plus or minus 2.00 percent from nominal facial dimensions. The range of facial dimensions not to exceed plus or minus 0.75 percent of the average facial dimension.
          2.Warpage per ASTM C485: Not to exceed 1.5 percent along any edge nor plus or minus 1.0 percent along either diagonal.
          3.Wedging per ASTM C-502: Applicable to 6 x 6 inch (152 x 152 mm) and larger quarry tile. Wedging of tiles not to exceed plus or minus 1.0 percent.
          4.Average Breaking Strength per ASTM C-648: 250 lbs (113.4 kg) or greater.

          2.4CHEMICAL-RESISTANT FLOOR BRICK
          For high traffic areas exposed to chemicals, acids, oils, heavy equipment and other damaging agents. Summitville is the only company that manufactures, both the Floor Brick and the Setting and Grouting products necessary for completing the job, offering a turnkey system from a single source with a proven reputation of quality and performance. You'll find our Floor Brick wherever heavy equipment is used and protection from corrosive materials is required. Flashing, waxing, and double abrasive is available on a special-order basis. After your individual requirements are determined, Summitville can design a custom installation system, providing you with all the material needed to insure results that exceed your specifications. We recommend extra heavy waxing for double abrasive or vertical fiber surfaces when epoxies, furans or latexes are used.

          B.Floor Preparations:
          1.Chemical Resistant Membranes:
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** For use as an impervious membrane under chemical resistant brick in corrosive environments such as flooring, walls, sumps, trenches, secondary containment barriers, concrete tanks, and manholes in steel, chemical, pulp, paper and refining industry applications. It protects concrete against highly corrosive chemical attacks and isolates brick from structural movement of the concrete. S-40 , S-41 and S-45 are meant for use together to make a complete system. Delete options not required.
          a.Basis of Design: S-41 Corrosion and chemical resistant membrane as manufactured by Summitville. A hot melt oxidized asphaltic compound free from fillers or other adulterants. Contains no coal tar, phenol or naval store products. A membrane on which tile or floor brick may be set.
          1)Ash: Less than 0.2 percent.
          2)Specific Gravity at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) per ASTM D71: 0.95 to 1.1.
          3)Ball and Ring Melting Point per ASTM D36: 200 to 225 degrees F (93.3 to 107.2 degrees C).

          b.Basis of Design: S-45 - Textile Glass Cloth as manufactured by Summitville. An asphalt-impregnated open mesh woven glass cloth made from inorganic glass fibers and lightly covered with a bituminous coating.

          2)Weight, Saturated: 2 oz per sq yd (67.81 grams per sq m) minimum.
          3)Moisture Content: 2 percent maximum.

          1)Two-part 100 percent solids epoxy system to resist attacks from acids, alkalis and other chemical compounds that normally break down cement mortars and grouts.
          2)Sag resistant. For setting or grouting ceramic tile on any wall or floor installation.

          2)Floor brick may be installed with Fura-set on sound, cured damp concrete at temperatures as low as 40 degrees F (4.4 degrees C).
