SUBMITTALS
A.
Submit under provisions of Section 01 30 00 - Administrative Requirements.
B.
Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:
1.
Preparation instructions and recommendations.
2.
Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.
3.
Installation methods.

Selection Samples: For each finish product specified, two complete sets of color chips representing manufacturer's full range of available colors and patterns.

Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.

Store materials at temperature and humidity conditions recommended by manufacturer. Protect from exposure to harmful weather conditions.

SEQUENCING
A.
Ensure that products of this section are supplied to affected trades in time to prevent interruption of construction progress.
1.8
PROJECT CONDITIONS
A.
Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.

PART 3 EXECUTION
 
3.1
EXAMINATION
A.
Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.
B.
If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
3.2
PREPARATION
A.
Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
B.
Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
3.3
INSTALLATION
A.
Sound Barriers: Install Sound Barrier in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
1.
Do not begin installation until all other trades are finished in the area.
2.
On floor and ceiling assemblies, sound barrier can be installed either on top of floor joists, on top of sub-floor, or attached to joists from below.
3.
Do not use sound barrier to surround any light fixture due to possible high temperatures and air flow requirements.
4.
Use a T-bar or drywall jack if required to support sound barrier during overhead installation.
5.
Surfaces and areas to receive the Sound Barrier should be weather tight and maintained at a minimum average temperature of 65 degrees F (18 degrees C) for 48 hours before, during and after the installation.
6.
Use adhesive recommended by the manufacturer.
7.
Utilize acoustical sealant, tape, sound rated putty and sound isolation materials as necessary to preserve the wall assembly's acoustical integrity.
8.
Seal all electrical openings, boxes, switches, plumbing, and HVAC components to maximize the wall assembly's acoustical integrity.
9.
Install walls, floors or ceilings in accordance with industry standards.
B.
Sub-Flooring Sound Control: Install dB-4looring PRO in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
1.
Do not begin installation until all other trades are finished in the area.
2.
On floor assemblies, sound barrier can be installed either on top of sub-floor or on concrete substrate.
3.
Surfaces and areas to receive the Sound Barrier should be weather tight and maintained at a minimum average temperature of 65 degrees F (18 degrees C) for 48 hours before, during and after the installation.
4.
Seal all electrical openings, boxes, switches, plumbing, and HVAC components to maximize the assembly's acoustical integrity.
5.
Install floor finishes in accordance with industry standards.
a.
Carpet layers can go directly on top
b.
Wood floors can be nailed directly on top.
c.
Laminate floors can be floated directly on top.
d.
Ceramic Floors can have the adhesive compound added to the top surface of dB-4looring then add the ceramic tile to complete the job.
e.
Vinyl and Carpet Flooring: Felt up.
f.
All other flooring, including self leveling: Felt down.

PROTECTION
A.
Protect installed products until completion of project.
B.
Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
