          PART 1GENERAL
 
          1.1SECTION INCLUDES
 
          A.Vertical enclosed permanently-installed wheelchair lifts. (Clarity 16E, Clarity 16S, Clarity 16D, Clarity 16C).

          1.4SUBMITTALS
 
          A.Submit under provisions of Section 01 30 00 - Administrative Requirements.
 
          B.Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:
          1.Preparation instructions and recommendations.
          2.Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.
          3.Installation methods.
 
          C.Shop Drawings: Drawings shall show dimensional and wiring requirements.
 
          D.Verification Samples: For each finish product specified, two samples 2 x 3 inches (50 x 75 mm) representing actual product, color, and patterns.
 
          1.5QUALITY ASSURANCE
 
          A.Manufacturer shall have not less than twenty years of experience in the design and manufacture of vertical wheelchair lifts.
 
          B.Installer Qualifications: Minimum 2 year experience installing similar products.
 
          1.6PRE-INSTALLATION MEETINGS
 
          A.Convene a conference approximately two weeks before scheduled commencement of the Work. Attendees shall include Architect, Contractor and trades involved. Agenda shall include schedule, responsibilities, critical path items and approvals.
 
          1.7DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
 
          A.Deliver and store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging bearing the brand name and manufacturer's identification until ready for installation.
 
          B.Handle materials to avoid damage.
 
          1.8PROJECT CONDITIONS
 
          A.Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.
 
          1.9SEQUENCING
 
          A.Ensure that products of this section are supplied to affected trades in time to prevent interruption of construction progress.
 
          1.10WARRANTY
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Extended warranty plans are available.
 
          A.Manufacturer shall provide a warranty for a period of ten years on the drive train, four years on all other components, and 90 days on labor, starting from the date of installation.

          1.For independent use by individuals with disabilities.
          2.ADA Compliance: Includes all applicable operating and safety devices.
          3.Low-Profile Platform Floor: Eliminates need for pit or access ramp at lower landing and facilitates entry into lift platform.

          B.Lift Product: Clarity 16E. Machine cabinet, transparent runway enclosure, and lifting platform servicing 2 landings, each on opposing sides of the lift.

          PART 3EXECUTION
 
          3.1EXAMINATION
 
          A.Verify suitability of substrate preparation in accordance with approved manufacturer's drawings.
 
          B.Verify correct space requirements in accordance with approved manufacturer's drawings. Verify electrical service is of correct type and at correct location.
 
          C.Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared. If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
 
          3.2PREPARATION
 
          A.Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
 
          B.Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
 
          3.3INSTALLATION
 
          A.Install lift in accordance with approved submittals, manufacturer's instructions, ASME A18.1 requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements.
 
          B.Installation space and substrate shall be of sufficient strength to support the loads imposed on it during operation of the lift. Refer to structural loading diagrams provided by manufacturer to ensure proper provision is made.
 
          3.4FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
 
          A.Perform acceptance tests as required by code and the authority having jurisdiction. Place rated load on platform and operate for several cycles to verify correct installation and operation. No mechanical failures shall occur and no wear that would affect the reliability of the lift shall be detected.
 
          3.5PROTECTION
 
          A.Protect installed products until completion of project.
 
          B.Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
