          PART 1GENERAL

          A.Integrated control of the entertainment, architectural and life safety lighting loads, within a performance venue. Related architectural and theatrical fixture types shall also be furnished.

          A.Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL):
          1.UL 1480, UL 2043 - Fire Test for Heat and Visible Smoke Release for Discrete Product and Their Accessories Installed in Air-Heating Spaces
          2.NEC 2011 - National Electric Code.
          3.CEC, Part 1 (2012 Edition) - Canadian Electrical Code.
          A.Open system architecture and non-proprietary control protocols are mandatory, as these insure compatibility with third party systems and facilitate long term support
          B.Equipment within this section shall be furnished (to the General Contractor) by a qualified Theatrical Systems Integrator (TSI) and by ETCP certified technicians. Required applications engineering, project management, turn-on, system programming, troubleshooting and owner instruction services shall be furnished by the TSI.
          C.Locally licensed electrical installation services shall be provided by others, under the Section 26 contract. Related work specified in Section 26 includes:
          1.Required electrical conduit.
          2.Required service and circuit breaker panels.
          3.Required line/low voltage wire pulls & terminations.
          4.Required emergency generator/inverter.
          5.Required permits, licenses, inspections and fees.
          A.Submit under provisions of Section 01 30 00 - Administrative Requirements.
          B.Product Data: Submit applicable reference standards, current performance data, and application recommendations and product limitations.
          C.Shop Drawings: Submit assembly and installation layout drawings showing product components in assembly with adjacent materials and products (speakers, panels, microphones, electronics rack).
          D.A complete submission of 11 x 17 format drawings for approval is required. Integration riser diagram(s) shall be project specific and reflect all equipment systems described by this section. All termination points and interconnecting wiring, between products of one or more manufacturers, shall be identified and detailed.
          E.Operation and Maintenance Data.
          F.Warranty: Submit manufacturer's standard warranty statement.
          A.Manufacturer Qualifications: Minimum 5 years experience in manufacture of similar products in use in similar environments, including project size, and complexity, and with the production capacity to meet the construction and installation schedule.
          B.Installer Qualifications: Installation, disassembly, re-assembly and calibration shall be done by the manufacturer and manufacturer employed approved subcontractors.
          C.Source Limitations: Obtain components and accessories through one source from a single approved manufacturer.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** All Wenger electrical components are supplied as listed and labeled by UL to meet typical local electrical inspection requirements.
          D.Electrical Components: Listed and labeled per NFPA 70, Article 100 by a testing agency acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction.
          A.Pack and ship in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations:
          1.Rack components shall be sub assembled before delivery to jobsite.
          2.Deliver components to room designated for installation.
          B.Do not accept damaged products at the site. Do not install damaged products.
          C.Store products in heated indoor storage near point of installation. Retain protective packaging until installing. Ship to jobsite only after roughing-in, painting work, and other related finish work has been completed and installation areas are ready to accept units and recommended temperature and humidity levels shall be maintained during the remainder of construction.
          A.Environmental Requirements: Do not install system until all mortar, wet and dust producing trades have completed their work and finished floor is in place.
          B.Determine with the customer rack location(s).
          C.Where code permits, wiring may be run outside of conduit. Such wiring shall be coordinated either in a plenum space or by means of secondary enclosure that meets code requirements.
          D.Field Measurements: Obtain required field measurements and indicating performance setups, ceiling construction, wall construction, ventilation features, electrical systems, networks and potential obstacles on shop drawings.
          E.If asbestos is present in existing facility, abatement shall be required by Owner prior to installation.
          Specifier: The warranty is provided by the manufacturer to the building owner. The warranty terms below are available from Wenger Corp. Verify that other manufacturers listed or seeking approval shall furnish warranty meeting requirements. Durability is a key aspect of Wenger's product value for Owners. The available warranty reflects Wenger's high confidence in the performance of their products.
          A.Repair/replacement warranties shall be provided by the equipment manufacturers.
          Except as noted, each manufacturer's published warranty policy shall apply. A two-year coverage term (after acceptance) shall be provided. ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete system which is not applicable.
          PART 2PRODUCTS

          C.Alternate submissions shall include a project Bill of Materials, datasheets with proposed options flagged and a complete description of all exceptions taken. A specifier review of alternate submissions shall require 10 days prior to bid opening. All approved alternates shall be listed and described by addenda.
          A.Ethernet Network:
          1.Ethernet network backbone shall comply with the IEEE 802.3 10BASE-T Ethernet specification.
          2.All network cabling shall be Cat5, Cat5e or Cat6 conforming to TIA-568A/B.
          3.Data transport shall utilize the TCP/IP suite of protocols to transfer the DMX data.
          4.Control devices and shall support industry standard ANSI 1.31 Streaming ACN.
          5.Ethernet nodes shall also provide legacy support of ETCNet2, ETCNet3, Pathport, ArtNet, and ShowNet protocols. Nodes shall accept data from any of the protocols named above simultaneously.
          6.TCP/IP Ethernet connection to the Internet shall be provided at the Stage Manager's network rack location. ISP service and interconnecting wiring shall be furnished and installed by others.

          B.DMX512 Network:
          1.DMX512 network backbone shall support full bi-directional RDM communication and shall adhere to ANSII standard E1.20-2006 Entertainment Technology - RDM - Remote Device Management over DMX512 Networks.
          2.Supported RDM features shall include:
          a.Discovery and Identification of RDM capable devices.
          b.Setting of start addresses, operating modes and additional settings as exposed by connected devices and controllable via RDM.
          c.Remote viewing of data as provided by connected devices.
          d.Error reporting as provided by connected devices.

          C.BacNET Network:
          1.BacNET network backbone shall comply with ASHRAE standard 135-2016.
          2.BacNET shall provide an override interface to the building/campus BMS. The BMS itself shall be furnished, wired, programmed and maintained by others.
          3.The network rack, located at the Stage Manager's position, shall be visible to the BMS as a BacNET "object"
          4.The network rack shall function as a BacNET gateway.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete if not required.
          D.Theatrical Controls:
          1.Theatrical controls shall provide a familiar and easy-to-use Windows graphical user interface (GUI). Controls shall restrict user access to the operating system, but provide open access to user generated show files.
          2.Complete hardware, system software and show file backup capability shall be provided. Any Windows 7 or better PC shall provide backup access.
          3.Theatrical controls shall be native IEEE 802.3af-2003 PoE device(s).
          4.Theatrical controls shall provide native support for ANSI E1.11-2008 (DMX512A) networking
          5.Theatrical controls shall provide native support for ANSI E1.31 (Streaming DMX over ACN) networking.
          6.Theatrical controls shall provide native remote access support, where an Internet connection is present. This feature allows authorized technicians located elsewhere to "take control" of the system, for maintenance and training purposes.
          7.Theatrical controls shall support up to three (3) HD touchscreen monitors. Each display shall be user definable.
          8.Control surfaces shall be backlit and changes to color and intensity used to indicate "state". Buttons shall also provide "follow me" indications designed to help novice users learn required key press sequences.
          9.GUI control of intelligent lighting fixtures shall be provided. A standard library of intelligent fixture profiles shall be included and periodically updated. The ability to edit existing profiles and create new profiles shall also be provided.
          10.Intelligent fixture attributes shall be graphically defined, not by channel numbers or DMX512 values. An intelligent fixture shall be represented by a single control channel, not a number series of values.
          11.Multiple users may access show data simultaneously. Show files are simultaneously saved across the system to integral hard drives, flash drives and external network drives.
          12.Theatrical controls shall provide direct XLR5 support of up to 2048 DMX/RDM512 devices (51,200 via network, 100 universes).
          13.A show file may contain virtually unlimited cues, groups, submasters, effects and macros.
          14.Theatrical controls shall support the Philips Advantage DMX program. Users of Philips Selecon, Philips Varilite, Philips Showline, or Philips Color Kinetics fixtures shall not consume available registered channels when these fixtures are patched. Other manufacturers shall not charge for registered outputs to run these multichannel luminaires.

          E.Architectural Controls:
          1.Primary architectural control interface shall be one or more 7" capacitive color touchscreen computers.
          2.Each touchscreen shall be a native IEEE 802.3af-2003 PoE device.
          3.Each touchscreen shall provide native support for ANSI E1.11-2008 (DMX512A) networking.
          4.Each touchscreen shall provide native support for ANSI E1.31 (Streaming DMX over ACN) networking.
          5.Each touchscreen shall store an unlimited number of memories & cues.
          6.Each touchscreen shall store data in non-volatile memory.
          7.File creation and editing shall be performed on the touchscreen directly, without the need of external software, a theatrical console or a PC. Files may be created or edited by these devices however.
          8.Intelligent lighting fixtures shall be controlled with a GUI interface and natural language, not data value or numerical entries.
          9.Secondary architectural control interface shall be Decora format modular stations made up of illuminated pushbuttons and slider potentiometers.
          10.Each module shall provide one or two sliders, or two or four pushbuttons.
          11.Networking and other performance requirements shall match the touchscreen(s).

          1.Sensors shall be digital, programmable and linked together on a L/V network.
          2.Sensors shall be used to trigger architectural presets & provide automatic turn-off functionality.
          3.Sensors shall be designed for high (auditorium) ceiling applications.
          4.Vacancy sensors shall be "Dual Tech". Both PIR and Ultrasonic circuits are required.
          5.Sensor circuit shall support "time of day" scheduling.

          G.Contact Relay Switching Panels:
          1.Relay panels shall be available in three physical sizes. Panel capacity shall be 12, 24, 36 or 48 individual "snap-in" relays.
          2."Thru-wire" and "main lug" panel models shall be available.
          3.Optional main and branch breaker options shall be available.
          4.Panels shall provide native support for ANSI E1.11-2008 (DMX512A) networking.
          5.Panels shall provide native support for ANSI E1.31 (Streaming DMX over ACN) networking.
          6.Panels shall provide support for UL924 Emergency transfer switching.
          7.Panels shall be provided with local LED status displays & digital override pushbuttons.
          8.Relays which are hardwired, use shared components or are PCB mounted shall not be acceptable.
          9.Relays shall include onboard manual override switching, which doesn't need power to operate.
          10.Panels and relays shall both be UL or ETL listed and labeled.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete if not required.
          H.A21 Dimming Panels:
          1.Dimming panels shall be available in three physical sizes. Panel capacity shall be 12, 24, 36 dimmers and/or relays.
          2.Panels shall be wired to 120/208V main lugs.
          3.Optional main and branch breaker options shall be available.
          4.Panels shall be convection cooled. Use of fans, blowers or filters shall not be acceptable.
          5.Dimmers & relays shall be provided as "bolt-in" modules. These may be inserted mix-and-match.
          6.Available dimmer technology shall include IGBT (two wire), SSR (two wire) and 0-10V LED (four wire).
          7.IGBT technology is ideal when using two wire LED loads, as IGBT shall support both RPC (reverse phase) and FPC (forward phase) output waveforms.
          8.IGBT dimmers shall not utilize "inductors" a/k/a "filter chokes" or other magnetics
          9.IGBT voltage transition time (rise-time & fall-time) shall be greater than 800 uS and unaffected by load size.
          10.IGBT insertion loss (voltage drop) shall be less than 3 volts with the dimmer set to full.
          11.Panels shall provide native support for ANSI E1.11-2008 (DMX512A) networking.
          12.Panels shall provide native support for ANSI E1.31 (Streaming DMX over ACN) networking.
          13.Panels shall provide support for UL924 Emergency transfer switching.
          14.Panels and modules shall both be UL or ETL listed and labeled.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete if not required.
          I.R21 Raceways:
          1.Raceways shall be built-to-order power distribution devices 6.48 inches tall x 3.24 inches wide (164.59 x 82.30 mm) x specified length.
          2.Raceways shall contain dual IGBT dimming and/or SSR switching modules in the quantity specified.
          3.Each module shall provide two individually controllable circuits. Each circuit shall be rated for a 2000W load.
          4.Each module shall be powered by one 20A circuit. Current sensing circuitry in the module shall limit total module load to 2400 watts or less.
          5.Each module shall be provided with local ON/OFF/DIM controls and LED load status displays.
          6.IGBT dimmer performance specifications shall be identical to the A21 modules called out in 1.10 above.

          J.Power Distribution Boxes:
          1.Power distribution shall consist of scheduled outlet boxes, pigtail boxes and floor pockets.
          2.Power distribution shall also consist of Company switches, UL1008 EM transfer panels and EM phase loss sense panels.
          3.TSI shall furnish power distribution for physical and electrical installation by the Division 26 contractor.
          4.All power distribution shall be UL or ETL listed and labeled.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete if not required.
          K.Theatrical Fixtures - Quartz-Halogen, LED and Intelligent:
          1.Theatrical fixtures shall fall into three groups:
          a.Quartz-halogen source, fixed positioning, externally controlled and dimmed.
          b.White light or RGBW LED source, fixed positioning, DMX512 controlled and dimmed.
          c.White light or RGBW LED or ARC source, intelligent focus & positioning, DMX512 controlled and dimmed.
          2.LED and intelligent fixtures shall provide native support for ANSI E1.11-2008 (DMX512A) networking.
          3.All fixtures shall be ETL, cETL and CE LISTED and labeled. ETL listing shall be under Portable Luminaires (UL Standard 1573) and Surface Mount Luminaires (UL Standard 1598).
          4.All fixtures shall be designed for an ambient operating temperature of -14 degrees F to 104 degrees F (-10 degrees C to 40 degrees C).
          5.All LED fixtures shall include multiple internal temperature sensors and automatic overtemp shutdown.
          6.All fixtures shall be IP20 rated for (clean & dry) indoor use.
          7.All fixtures shall be constructed of die cast aluminum & sheet steel housing. Use of flammable polycarbonate (plastic) fixture housings shall not be acceptable.
          8.Quartz-halogen fixtures shall be furnished with a mounting clamp, 36 inches (914 mm) cord w/ specified connector installed, color frame and safety cable. 110% lamp inventory shall also be provided.
          9.LED and intelligent fixtures shall be furnished with a mounting clamp, color frame and safety cable. PowerCONN input & output connectors shall be provided. XLR5 DMX512 input and output connectors shall also be provided.
          10.All theatrical fixtures shall be assembled, lamped, addressed and hung in place by the TSI.

          L.Architectural Fixtures:
          1.Architectural fixtures shall utilize convection cooled light engines exclusively. Any architectural fixtures that incorporates cooling fans, or requires a liquid filled radiator shall be unacceptable.
          2.Architectural fixtures shall not be a significant source of RFI emissions.
          3.Except where excluded by schedule, architectural fixtures shall be compatible with the DMX512 control protocol and provide full RDM support.
          4.Architectural fixtures shall dim down to 1%, with no discernable stepping, pulse or drift.
          5.Architectural fixtures shall dim up from zero with no discernable flash or "pop"
          6.On-site performance testing shall demonstrate compliance with above, as part of the system turn-on process. Non-compliance may provoke a demand for fixture replacement
          7.Architectural fixtures shall be UL or ETL listed and labeled.

          M.Life Safety Fixtures:
          1.Life Safety fixtures shall fall into four groups:
          a.LED seat and aisle lights.
          b.LED stage edge lights.
          c.LED locking rail worklights.
          d.LED running lights a/k/a "blues".
          2.Life safety fixtures shall provide support for ANSI E1.11-2008 (DMX512A) networking.
          3.Life safety fixtures shall provide support for UL924 emergency transfer.
          A.Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.
          B.If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
          A.Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
          B.Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
          A.Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
          B.On-site project management services shall be provided by a direct ETCP certified employee of the TSI. Services provided by sales reps & freelancers shall not be deemed equal, as they lack accountability, training, and certification necessary for performance venue project management tasks.
          C.On-site turn-on, programming, troubleshooting, and owner instruction services shall be provided by technician(s) trained and certified by each equipment manufacturer.
          D.Equipment shall be installed per plans and specifications. Equipment shall be aligned, adjusted, and trimmed for the most efficient operation, the greatest safety, and for the best visual appearance.
          A.Inspect installed work to verify compliance with requirements.
          1.Verify that electrical work complies with manufacturer's submittals and written installation requirements.
          2.Perform installation and startup checks as recommended by manufacturer.
          3.Prepare inspection reports and submit to Architect.
          A.Repair or replace defective work as directed by Architect upon inspection.
          B.Clean surfaces. Touch up marred finishes or replace damaged components that cannot be restored to factory-finished appearance. Use only materials and procedures recommended or furnished by manufacturer.
          C.Protect installed products from damage, abuse, dust, dirt, stain, or paint until completion of project. Do not permit use during construction.
