          1.4SUBMITTALS
 
          A.Submit under provisions of Section 01 30 00 - Administrative Requirements.
 
          B.Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:
          a.Preparation instructions and recommendations.
          b.Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.
          c.Installation methods.
 
          C.Shop Drawings: Submit manufacturer's shop drawings including laying pattern and anchoring.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete the following paragraphs if LEED is not applicable.
 
          D.LEED Submittals: Provide documentation of how the requirements of Credit will be met:
          a.MR Credit 4.1 and 4.2 Recycled Content: List of proposed materials with recycled content. Indicate post-consumer recycled content and pre-consumer recycled content for each product having recycled content.

          1.5QUALITY ASSURANCE
 
          A.Manufacturer Qualifications: Manufacturer with a minimum for five years documented experience with the products specified and with ISO Certification certifying material compliance..
 
          B.Installer Qualifications: Installer experienced in performing work of this section that has specialized in installation of work similar to that required for this project. Installer must also be able to provide skilled workman with satisfactory record of performance on landscaping or paving projects of comparable size and quality.
 
          C.Preinstallation Meetings:
          a.Convene a preinstallation meeting a minimum of two weeks prior to start of work.
          b.Verify project requirements, subbase and base conditions, manufacturer's installation instructions and coordination with other related work.
          c.Require attendance of parties directly affecting work of this section, including the Contractor, engineer, installer, and manufacturer's representative.
          d.Comply with Division 1 requirements.
 
          1.6DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
 
          A.Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.
 
          B.Protect materials during handling and installation to prevent damage.
 
          1.7PROJECT CONDITIONS
 
          A.Maintain environmental conditions recommended by manufacturer for desired results. Do not install products under conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.
 
          B.In cold weather, do not use frozen materials or materials coated with ice or frost, and do not build on frozen base or wet, saturated or muddy subgrade.
 
          C.Protect partially completed work against damage from other construction traffic when work is in progress.
 
          1.8SEQUENCING
 
          A.Ensure that products of this section are supplied to affected trades in time to prevent interruption of construction progress.

          PART 3EXECUTION
 
          3.1EXAMINATION
 
          A.Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.
 
          B.Before beginning installation, verify site conditions are as indicated on the Drawings. Notify the Architect if site conditions are not acceptable. Do not begin preparation or installation until unacceptable conditions have been corrected.
 
          C.If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Select "Load Support" and/or "Slope and Channel" Preparation and Installation from the following paragraphs as required for the project and delete the one note required.
 
          3.2LOAD SUPPORT PREPARATION
 
          A.Subgrade Preparation:
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Coordinate the following paragraphs below with Typar Geosynthetics's recommendations and with subgrade requirements specified in Section 31 20 00 - Earth Moving Earthwork and, if required, Bases specified in Section 32 10 00 - Bases, Ballasts, and Paving, and Subdrainage Systems specified in Section 33 46 13.13 - Foundation Drainage Piping. Proper subgrade preparation and drainage is required to achieve required performance. Contact Typar Geosynthetics for additional recommendations.
          a.Prepare subgrade as specified in Section 31 20 00 - Earth Moving. Verify subgrade in accordance with porous paving system manufacturer's instructions.
          b.Ensure foundation soil meets minimum strength requirements through proof rolling or other conventional method. If unacceptable foundation soils are encountered, excavate and replace with suitable quality material.
 
          B.Separation Layer and Base Materials Installation:
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Coordinate paragraphs below with Typar Geosynthetics recommendations and with base materials and installation provided as specified in Section 32 10 00 - Bases, Ballasts, and Paving. The strength of the porous pavement system is determined, in part, by the support provided by the sub-base. Consult with the manufacturer for engineered base details and thickness recommendations. Proper engineered base materials will promote vegetative growth and provide required structural support.
          a.When separation between subgrade soil and infill material is required, place TYPAR 3401G AASHTO Class 3 Geotextile over subgrade.
          b.If additional base materials or engineered soils are required between separation geotextile and TYPAR GEOCELL GS, install the appropriate depth and compact to a minimum 95 percent Standard Proctor.
          c.Install separation layer and base as specified in Section 32 10 00 - Bases, Ballasts, and Paving. Verify sub-base is installed in accordance with geotextile manufacturer's instructions.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Select the installation requirements for the products specified from the following paragraphs and delete the ones not required. Contact Typar Geosynthetics for additional information on installation requirements suitable for your projects requirements.
 
          3.3LOAD SUPPORT INSTALLATION
 
          A.Panel Placement and Connection:
          a.Position and expand TYPAR GEOCELL GS panels to the appropriate dimensions. Hold individual panels in their expanded positions with rebar J hook fixing pins or wooden stakes.
          b.Confirm each TYPAR GEOCELL GS panel is expanded uniformly and correctly aligned. Nest panels along each joint to ensure adjacent TYPAR GEOCELL GS panels are flush at joint and adjoining cells are fully anchored.
          c.Install rebar fixing pins or wooden stakes along the joining of each panel every other cell to hold TYPAR GEOCELL GS panels stable during infill. Alternate the installation of rebar fixing pins or wooden stakes to ensure each panel is stable.
 
          B.Exposed Aggregate or Engineered Infill
          a.Fill TYPAR GEOCELL GS with specified aggregate material progressively from front to back. Do not use an infill material with particle sizes greater than 3 inches.
          b.Overfill cells with aggregate infill material. Limit the drop height of infill material to 3 feet (1 meter) to avoid displacement of the cell walls.
          c.Overfill cells to a depth of approximately 2 inches (50 mm) and level for exposed aggregate surfaces. Maintain the 2 inch wear surface over TYPAR GEOCELL GS panels to prevent wear to the cell walls.
          d.Compact infill to a minimum of 95 percent Standard Proctor in accordance with ASTM D 698.
 
          C.Base Stabilization
          a.Overfill TYPAR GEOCELL GS to a depth of 1 inch and compact to a minimum of 95 percent Standard Proctor.
          b.Wear surface shall consist of asphalt/concrete/paver stones/other as specified or indicated on the Drawings. Install per Engineer's specifications.
 
          D.Unpaved Road Reinforcement: Install as specified in 02700.
 
          E.Paved Road Reinforcement: Install as specified in 02700.
 
          F.Industrial Yard Stabilization: Install as specified in 02700.
 
          G.Subsurface Drains: Install as specified in Section 33 46 13.13 - Foundation Drainage Piping.
 
          H.Erosion Control: Install as specified in 02920.
 
          I.Landfill Separation: Install as specified in 02700.
 
          J.Recreational Facilities: Install as specified in 02800.
 
          K.Septic system: Install as specified in 02540
 
          L.Landscaping: Install as specified in 02900
 
          3.4SLOPE AND CHANNEL PROTECTION PREPARATION
 
          A.Subgrade Preparation:
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Coordinate the following paragraphs below with Typar Geosynthetics's recommendations and with subgrade requirements specified in Section 31 20 00 - Earth Moving Earthwork and, if required, Bases specified in Section 32 10 00 - Bases, Ballasts, and Paving, and Subdrainage Systems specified in Section 33 46 13.13 - Foundation Drainage Piping. Proper subgrade preparation and drainage is required to achieve required performance. Contact Typar Geosynthetics for additional recommendations.
          a.Prepare subgrade as specified in Section 31 20 00 - Earth Moving. Verify subgrade in accordance with porous paving system manufacturer's instructions.
          b.Excavate or fill foundation soils to align top of TYPAR GEO-CELL GS panels flush with or slightly lower than adjacent surface or final grade.
          c.Install TYPAR 3401G geotextile underlayer on prepared surfaces.
          d.If required, install geomembrane underlayer on prepared surfaces.
 
          3.5SLOPE AND CHANNEL INSTALLATION
 
          A.Panel Anchorage:
          a.Anchorage with Rebar J Hooks (No Crest Trench.)
          b.a. Position collapsed TYPAR GEOCELL GS panels at crest of slope.
          c.b. Drive the rebar J hooks at the crest of the slope to secure the TYPAR GEOCELL GS panels in place and allow expansion of the cellular confinement system into position.
          d.c. After the TYPAR GEOCELL GS panels are expanded as de- sired, drive the rebar J hooks with the arm of the hook over the cell wall and flush with top of panel.
          e.d. Anchor TYPAR GEOCELL GS with J hooks in each cell around the perimeter and every square yard.
 
          B.Panel Placement:
          a.Place compressed TYPAR GEOCELL GS panels at crest of slope and expand each panel down slope. Ensure each panel is expanded uniformly to required dimensions.
          b.Correctly align outer cells of each layer. Interleaf or overlap edges of adjacent Panels in each layer to nest connections. Verify each panel is level and flush with adjacent panel(s).
 
          C.Infill Placement:
          a.Place infill in expanded cells with suitable material handling equipment, such as a backhoe, front-end loader, conveyor, or crane-mounted skip.
          b.Limit drop height to a maximum of 3 feet (1 m) to avoid damage or displacement of the cell walls.
          c.Fill TYPAR GEOCELL GS panels from crest of slope to toe.
          d.Infill material shall be comprised of particle sizes no greater than 3 inches, unfrozen, and free-flowing when placed into the TYPAR GEOCELL GS Panels.
          e.Compact infill material in accordance with the Engineer's requirements.
          f.Ensure the infill material remains flush with the TYPAR GEO-CELL GS cell walls after compaction.
