          b.External Brake: Housed inside the bollard power drive on top of secondary gearbox input. It acts as a holding brake only engaged when the bollard is stationary.
          c.Control System: Self-contained electrical enclosure, desktop console style, contains the programmable logic controller (PLC) or other control types. A 24 VDC power transformer and ancillary electrical components enable users to transfer electrical power from the shore power supply to the bollard motor in a controlled fashion.
          d.Gearbox: Housed inside the bollard pipe. The gearbox converts the motor's rotational motion into linear motion via chain to move the bollard pipe.

          3.1EXAMINATION
 
          A.Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly constructed and prepared per supplier specifications.
 
          B.If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect in writing of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
 
          3.2PREPARATION
 
          A.Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
 
          B.Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
 
          3.3INSTALLATION
 
          A.Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, approved submittals, and in proper relationship with adjacent construction.
 
          B.Typical suggested drainage layouts provided by Guardiar. Site specific drainage (if necessary) to be verified by third party in accordance with IPC to ensure product longevity and sustained successful operation.
 
          3.4FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
