          1.4SUBMITTALS
 
          A.Submit under provisions of Section 01 30 00 - Administrative Requirements.
 
          B.Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:
          1.Preparation instructions and recommendations.
          2.Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.
          3.Installation methods.
 
          C.Shop Drawings: Showing overall dimensions (width, height). Supporting construction requirements and equipment structural attachment. Operating range and required clearances.
 
          D.Manufacturer's Certificates: Certify products meet or exceed specified requirements.
 
          1.5QUALITY ASSURANCE
 
          A.Manufacturer Qualifications: Providing sole source for design, engineering, manufacturing and warranty claims handling. Company specializing in manufacturing products specified with a minimum 20 years experience.
 
          B.Installer Qualifications: Installer Qualifications: Trained, certified and approved by manufacturer, with documented experience on similar projects.

          1.7SEQUENCING
 
          A.Ensure that locating templates and other information required for installation of products of this section are furnished to affected trades in time to prevent interruption of construction progress.

          1.8PROJECT CONDITIONS
 
          A.Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.

          2.1MANUFACTURERS

          2.2HANDRAIL
 
          A.Description: Omega Handrails shall be a two-rail design with a 42 inches top rail height, 21 inches midrail height with posts on maximum 8 feet centers, with anchors and fittings. Handrail shall be assembled at the job-site to be assembled as a mechanically fastened system.
          1.Completed system of handrail, posts and framing of members shall be capable of withstanding a load of at least 200 pounds applied in any direction at any point on the top rail.
          2.System shall comply with OSHA-compliant barrier, and BOCA building code
 
          B.Handrail shall fasten directly to the floor or platform framing to achieve maximum strength and rigidity. Steel handrail shall meet or exceed ASTM A 500, Grade B round or square tubing.
 
          C.Pipe railings, posts and top and intermediate railings shall be at least 1-1/2 inches nominal diameter.

          1.Size: 1-1/2 inches.

          2.3COLUMN GUARDS
 
          A.Column Guards:
          1.Material: Omega Column Guards are constructed of hot rolled, cold formed 3/16 inch or 7 gage steel meeting the requirements of ASTM A 36 steel, modified to a minimum yield of 36 K.S.I.
          2.Description:
          a.Vertical portion is 42 inches high with two 9/16 inch holes to accommodate 1/2 inch hardware to fasten 2 halves together. Base plates are manufactured of 1/2 inch ASTM A 36 steel plate, with eight 3/4 inch diameter base plate mounting holes to accommodate 5/8 inch diameter anchors.
          3.Size:

          a.Large: Two 12 inch by 22 inch half sections with a 15 inch by 15 inch opening.
          b.Small: Two 10 inch by 20 inch half sections with a 11 inch by 11 inch opening.

          2.4DOWNSPOUT/PIPE GUARDS
 
          A.Downspout/Pipe Guards:
          1.Material: Omega Downspout/Pipe Guards constructed of hot rolled, cold formed 3/16 inch or 7 gage steel meeting the requirements of ASTM E 36 steel, modified to a minimum yield of 36 K.S.I.
          2.Description:
          a.Guard is 36 inches high with four 9/16 inch diameter mounting holes to accommodate suitable anchors.
          3.Type:

          a.Column Mount.
          b.Wall Mount.
          4.Finish: Heat cured, polyester based powder coating with sea spray and ultraviolet enhancements. Standard color is OSHA. approved Traffic Safety Yellow.
 
          2.5INDUSTRIAL GUARDRAILS / SAFETY BARRIERS
 
          A.General: Omega Industrial Guardrails / Safety Barriers.
          1.Rail Sections: Rails shall be a two rib design minimum of 1.75 inches wide by 12 inches high by required lengths from 13 inches to 120 inch in 12 inch increments. Rail section fabricated of hot rolled; cold formed 11-gauge steel meeting the requirements of ASTM A 1011, CS Type B.
          2.Mounting Posts: Minimum T.S. 4 inches by 4 inches by 3/16 inches upright, with a 10 inch by 10 inch by .50 inch base plate, constructed from cold formed structural steel tubing meeting the requirements of ASTM A 500 - Grade B, with a minimum yield of 46 K.S.I. Provide mounting posts types from the following as indicated on the Drawings.
          a.Guardrail Mounting Post: 18 inch Perimeter Mounting Post.
          b.Guardrail Perimeter Mounting Post: 18 inch Offset Perimeter Mounting Post.
          c.Guardrail Corner Mounting Post: 18 inch Offset Corner Mounting Post
          d.Guardrail Perimeter Mounting Post: 44 inch Double Guardrail Mounting Post
          e.Double Corner Guardrail Mounting Post: 44 inch Offset Double Guardrail Mounting Post.
          f.Double Corner Guardrail Mounting Post: 44 inch Offset Double Guardrail Corner Mounting Post.
          g.Guardrail Corner Mounting Post: 44 inch Guardrail Mounting Post, double rail with no guardrail mounting holes.
          3.Optional Accessories: Provide where indicated on the Drawings.

          2.6PIPE BOLLARDS
 
          A.Pipe Bollards: Omega Pipe Bollards.
          1.Material: Schedule 40 pipe or pipe sized steel tubing.
          2.Type:
          a.Surface Mounted with a 10 inch by 10 inch by 1/2 inch thick Hot Rolled Steel base plate conforming to ASTM A 500 with four 3/4 inch diameter holes for anchoring to a minimum 3000 psi reinforced concrete a minimum of 4 inches thick.
          b.Core Mounted with Schedule 40 pipe or pipe sized steel tubing.
          3.Size:

          a.4 inch diameter, 48 inches high with a .237 wall thickness.

          2.7OVERHEAD DOOR TRACK PROTECTION
 
          A.Omega Z-Guard.
          1.Material: Constructed of hot rolled, cold formed 3/16 inch or 7 gage steel meeting the requirements of ASTM E 36 steel, modified to a minimum yield of 36 K.S.I.
          2.Description:
          a.Z-Guard shall be a minimum of 5 inches wide with a minimum projection from the wall of 6 inches by 30 inches tall. Vertical flange shall have two wall mounting holes to accommodate 1/2 inch anchors suitable for anchoring to the specific wall construction. Trak-Shield has a Z-Shaped configuration, with a flaired inside edge and mitered inside corners to eliminate catch points.
          3.Finish: Heat cured, polyester based powder coating with sea spray and ultraviolet enhancements. Standard color is OSHA approved Traffic Safety Yellow.
 
          B.Omega Track-Shield.
          1.Material: Constructed of hot rolled, cold formed 3/16 inch or 7 gage steel meeting the requirements of ASTM E 36 steel, modified to a minimum yield of 36 K.S.I.
          2.Description:
          a.Trak-Shield is a minimum of 5 inches wide with a minimum projection from the wall of 6 inches by 48 inches tall. Vertical flange shall have two wall mounting holes to accommodate 1/2 inch anchors suitable for anchoring to the wall construction. Trak-Shield has a Z-Shaped configuration, with a flared inside edge and mitered inside top corner to eliminate catch points. Base plates shall be manufactured from 10 inch by 10 inch by 3/8 inch ASTM A 36 steel, and shall have three base plate mounting holes to accommodate 5/8 inch diameter anchors.
          3.Finish: Heat cured, polyester based powder coating with sea spray and ultraviolet enhancements. Standard color is OSHA. approved Traffic Safety Yellow.
 
          2.8DOWNSPOUT PIPE GUARDS
 
          A.Downspout/Pipe Guards:
          1.Material: Constructed of hot rolled, cold formed 3/16 inch or 7 gage steel meeting the requirements of ASTM E 36 steel, modified to a minimum yield of 36 K.S.I.
          2.Description:
          a.Vertical portion shall have four 9/16 inch holes to accommodate anchoring or bolting to a suitable surface.
          3.Finish: Heat cured, polyester based powder coating with sea spray and ultraviolet enhancements. Standard color is OSHA. approved Traffic Safety Yellow.
 
          PART 3EXECUTION
 
          3.1EXAMINATION
 
          A.Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.
 
          B.Examine the opening and conditions under which equipment is to be installed and notify the Architect and Contractor in writing of any conditions detrimental to the proper and timely completion of the work. Do not proceed with the work until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected in a manner acceptable to the installer.
 
          3.2PREPARATION
 
          A.Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
 
          B.Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
 
          3.3INSTALLATION
 
          A.Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
 
          B.Before Substantial Completion, conduct a demonstration in the presence of the Owner's representative that all equipment operates properly in every aspect. Conduct a detailed user/operator training session at time and place agreed upon by Owner's representative.
 
          3.4PROTECTION
 
          A.Protect installed products until completion of project.
 
          B.Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
