1.4  DEFINITIONS

	A.  ADA Compliant Shower (General): A shower assembly that, when installed in accordance with the adopted ADA Standards, complies with required inside dimensions, clear floor space, threshold, controls, grab-bar and seat specifications, reach ranges, and more. Compliance varies by shower type and AHJ.

	B.  ADA Roll-in Shower and Pan: Designed for wheelchair accessibility and entry. Typical minimum clear inside dimensions are 60 x 30 inches (1524 x 762 mm)as measured by the center point of opposing walls for standard ADA roll-in showers and pans. Thresholds shall be less than or equal to 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) above finished floor. Required accessories shall be located per local accessibility standards and Drawings.

	C.  ADA Transfer Shower and Pan: Intended for individuals to transfer to a shower seat. Absolute inside dimensions shall be 36 x 36 inches (914.40 x 914.40 mm) as measured by the center point of opposing walls. Thresholds shall be less than or equal to 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) above finished floor. Required accessories shall be located per local accessibility standards and Drawings.

	D.  ANSI Type A / Type B Showers (ICC A117.1): Showers designed to meet Type A or Type B requirements in dwelling/sleeping units in accordance with ICC A117.1. Select Shower Models and detail clearances, blocking, thresholds, and accessories to meet Type A or Type B as required.

	C.  Source Limitations: Provide each type of product from a single manufacturing source to ensure uniformity.

1.7  DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

PART 3  EXECUTION

3.1  EXAMINATION
