1.4  QUALITY ASSURANCE

	A.  Applicator Qualifications: Company specializing in performing Work of this section with minimum 2-years of documented experience with projects of similar scope and complexity and licensed by manufacturer.

1.5  DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

	A.  Store and handle materials in strict compliance with manufacturer's written instructions and recommendations.

	B.  Protect from damage due to weather, moisture, excessive temperature, and construction operations.

	C.  Cover wood products to protect against moisture. 

	D.  Support stacked products to prevent deformation and to allow air circulation.

	E.  Fire Retardant Treated Wood: Prevent exposure to precipitation during shipping, storage, and installation.

1.6  PROJECT CONDITIONS

	A.  Maintain environmental conditions including temperature, humidity, and ventilation within limits recommended by the manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside of manufacturer's recommended limits.

PART 3  EXECUTION

3.1  EXAMINATION

	A.  Remove dust, dirt and other contaminants from treatment surfaces.

	B.  Remove tarpaulins, drop cloths, strippable protection films and other items prior to treatment of materials.

	C.  Do not begin installation until substrates or adjoining construction is properly prepared and constructed.

	D.  If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect in writing of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

3.2  PREPARATION

	A.  Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to treatment.

	B.  Prepare surfaces using methods recommended in writing by the manufacturer.

3.3  INSTALLATION

	A.  Comply with manufacturer's written instructions and approved submittals.

	B.  Treat field cuts, notches, or bored holes in accordance with manufacturer's written instructions and AWPA M4.

3.4  FIELD QUALITY CONTROL

	A.  Field Inspection: Coordinate field inspection in accordance with appropriate sections in Division 01.

	B.  Manufacturer's Services: Coordinate manufacturer's services in accordance with appropriate sections in Division 01.

3.5  CLEANING AND PROTECTION

	A.  Clean products in accordance with the manufacturer's written recommendations. 

	B.  Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products prior to Substantial Completion.
