          A.Manufacturer Qualifications: Skylight manufacturer shall have a minimum of twenty years experience in skylight manufacturing, qualified by having performed similar work and having experienced workmen to perform work of type required by contract documents and licensed where appropriate.
 
          1.6DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING
 
          A.Deliver, store and handle materials and products in strict compliance with manufacturer's instructions and recommendations and industry standards.
 
          B.Store products indoors in manufacturer's or fabricator's original containers and packaging, with labels clearly identifying product name and manufacturer. Protect from damage.
 
          1.7PROJECT CONDITIONS
 
          A.Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.
 
          1.8SEQUENCING AND SCHEDULING
 
          A.Conference: Convene a pre-installation conference to establish procedures to maintain optimum working conditions and to coordinate this work with related and adjacent work.

          PART 3EXECUTION
 
          3.1EXAMINATION AND PREPARATION
 
          A.Prepare openings and substrates using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
 
          B.Do not proceed with installation until openings and substrates have been prepared using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions and deviations from manufacturer's recommended tolerances are corrected. Commencement of installation constitutes acceptance of conditions.
 
          C.If preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect in writing of deviations from manufacturer's recommended installation tolerances and conditions.
 
          D.Dissimilar Material Protection:
          1.Where aluminum will contact dissimilar metals, protect against galvanic action by painting contact surfaces with primer or by applying sealant or tape recommended by manufacturer for this purpose.
          2.Where aluminum will contact concrete or masonry, protect against corrosion by painting contact surfaces with bituminous paint.
          3.Where aluminum will contact pressure-treated wood, separate dissimilar materials by methods recommended by manufacturer.
 
          3.2INSTALLATION
 
          A.Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
 
          B.Coordinate with installation of roof deck and other substrates to receive skylight units
 
          C.Provide thermal isolation when components penetrate or disrupt building insulation. Pack fibrous insulation in rough opening to maintain continuity of thermal barriers.
 
          D.Coordinate with installation of vapor barriers, roof insulation, roofing, and flashing as required to assure that each element of the work performs properly and that combined elements are waterproof and weathertight.
 
          E.Align skylights level, free of warp or twist, maintain dimensional tolerances.
 
          F.Anchor units securely to supporting substrates, adequate to withstand lateral and thermal stresses as well as inward and outward loading pressures.
 
          G.Counterflashing: Where counter flashing is required as component of the skylight, install to provide an adequate waterproof overlap with roofing or roof flashing. Seal with thick bead of mastic sealant, except where overlap is indicated to be left open for ventilation.
