QUALITY ASSURANCE

Single Source Responsibility: Single manufacturer shall provide all components required to install the products specified in this section.

Manufacturers Qualifications: Manufacturers must have five years of experience in the manufacturing of bleachers and grandstands of the type specified.

Installer Qualifications: Factory-trained and experienced in the proper installation of bleachers and grandstands.

Welders: AWS certified.

1.6

DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

Deliver materials to site with manufacturer's labels clearly identifying the products and contractor or fabricator.

Store materials in a clean, dry area, away from exposure to the weather until they are ready for installation.

Protect materials while handling to avoid damage during installation.

1.7

SITE CONDITIONS

Owner shall furnish soil tests as necessary to determine suitability for installation.

Owner shall clearly mark all underground utilities and notify the appropriate parties prior to work commencement.

Proceed with work only when current or forecasted weather allows.

1.8

WARRANTY

Provide manufacturer's standard warranty affirming that products specified in this section shall be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use provided they are installed in accordance with all current application requirements.

ANGLE FRAME BLEACHERS

GT Grandstands Inc. Universal Series Angle Frame Bleachers: Cost effective, maintenance-free bleacher with continuous 12 inch (305 mm) wide seat plank, 6 inch (152 mm) rise per row, and 12" (305 mm) front row seat height designed to eliminate aisles and conform to local building codes.

Planking material: 6063 T-6 aluminum alloy consisting of anodized 2" x 12" seat plank, single 2" x 10" mill finish tread plank per row, and single 1" x 6" anodized riser at top row of 5 row units only.

Railings to be 42 inches (1067 mm) high, located at all sides and long the back when bleachers are 30 inches (762 mm) above grade. 9 gauge galvanized chain link mesh fastened in place with galvanized hardware.

Guard Rail: Vertical picket system. 1 1/2 inch x 1 1/2 inch (38 mm x 38 mm) top and bottom members with 3/4 inch x 3/4 inch (19 mm x 19 mm) square vertical pickets welded in place to reject the passage of a 4 inch (102 mm) sphere. All tubing to be mill finish 1/8 inch (3 mm) square aluminum stock. Railing tops to be 42 inches (1067 mm) high, located at all sides and along the back when bleachers are 30 inches (762 mm) above grade.

GT Grandstands Inc. Standard Series Angle Frame Bleachers: Cost-effective, maintenance-free bleacher with an aisle, continuous 10 inch (305 mm) wide seat plank on either side, 8 inch (203 mm) rise per row, and 16 inch (406 mm) front row seat height. Conforms with local building code requirements.

Planking material: 6063 T-6 aluminum consisting of 2" x 10" anodized seat plank, (2) 2" x 10" mill finish tread planks per row, single 1" x 6" anodized riser planks per row starting at second row, and (2) 1" x 6" anodized riser planks at top row. Planking is arranged to prevent passage of 4" sphere.

Clear span, I-beam construction with 18 feet (5486 mm) on center vertical columns. Transverse bays remain free of crossbracing over the length of the grandstand.

H-frame construction with angled vertical columns placed 6 feet (1829 mm) on center laterally, and as necessary from front to back.

Continuous angle frame construction with framing spaced at 6'-0" on center laterally and are joined by crossbracing as required to satisfy design loading.

Owner is responsible for collection and routing of runoff from the secondary gutters.

Minimum Width: 48 inches for interior aisles and 36 inches for end aisles unless larger aisles are required by the applicable local code.

Aisles with seating on both sides must have a 34-38 inch high handrail with intermediate rail at approximately 22 inches above the tread.

Aisle tread nosing shall have a contrasting color.

Intermediate aisle steps: If required by the applicable code, shall be used to provide equal rise and run throughout the aisle. Each shall have an contrasting nosing.

Aisle and Stair Nosing: Extruded aluminum alloy 6063-T6, non-skid black powder coated finish.

Hardware:

Bolts, Nuts: Hot-dipped galvanized.

Tie-Down Clip: Aluminum alloy 6061-T6.

Structural Hardware: Meeting or exceeding the requirements of ASTM-A307. No connections utilizing high strength bolts are classed as slip critical.

PART 3

EXECUTION

3.1

EXAMINATION

Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.

Examine all soils and footings to ensure solid and secure footings.

3.2

PREPARATION

Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.

Install concrete footings at all locations at all locations noted on the drawings and allow to sufficiently cure prior to installation.

Grade surrounding landscape prior to installation of benches or grandstands.

Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended to achieve the best result based on project conditions.

3.3

INSTALLATION

Follow all current application requirements for installation under conditions specific to the project.

Where manufacturer's requirements and building codes are in direct conflict, the more restrictive method of application shall prevail.

3.4

PROTECTION

Protect installed products until completion of project.

Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
