modular wheelchair ramps
American Access was founded by Brian Clark after many years as operations manager for a wheelchair ramp manufacturer in the United States. In starting his own business, Clark wanted to structure it around what he found to be most rewarding about the wheelchair ramp business – meeting the customers and serving their needs. When founded, American Access was created to be a family-owned business, offering personal service on a national scale.
The backbone of the company is a group of three brothers – Brian Clark, President; David Clark, VP; and Paul Clark, CFO. Each brother brings to the table different skills acquired through many years of service in various industries. Growing up, the brothers remained close and shared similar goals of what a leading company – in any industry – should be about and what that company should offer to its customer base. Now, they have fused their individual energies and talents to put these goals into action under one roof at American Access.
Since the company’s establishment in 1997, it has served America’s veterans, public schools, colleges, churches, private organizations and the general public with thousands of ramp installations across the country.
American Access’ staff is committed to continuing to meet customer needs quickly and conveniently. Our customers’ top concern should be their health. Arranging the delivery and installation of the equipment needed to assist them – that’s our job.

The Hero offers you a threshold ramp with the MOST usable surface space and a safer incline than any ramp in a comparable design. The Hero's ramp surface on a 6" rise provides over 25% more under your chair. With the combination of an anodized surface and special non-skid technology, the Hero exceeds the NFSI requirement for wet Static Coefficient of Friction on a hard flooring surface.
What does this mean? For the end user in the chair, a safer feeling going up and down the ramp. For the person assisting the chair user, less strength required to push the occupied chair up and down the ramp. For the Dealer, peace of mind knowing that you are providing the safest "threshold" ramp offered with the most aggressive non skid surface passing the peace of mind on to your customer.
By offering you a complete modular system, the packaging for your American Access Threshold Ramp is much more attractive to your customers, less space taken up on your shelves and showroom floor, and best of all, more economical when shipping.
The Big Lug is also ideal for small curb situations and creates a full-sized and gentle path for folks using walkers or wheelchairs or even those that are just a little unsteady on their feet.
