Established in 2015, Monarch Glass Studio was formed by Tyler Kimball in the historic 18th and Vine district of Kansas City, Missouri. The studio is multi-faceted and operates off of the regions most abundant glassblowing studio, with four work stations and a furnace that holds 300 pounds of glass and creates thousands of pounds of work each month. The glassblowing sector lends itself to creating architectural glass for stained glass studios, components for installations and lighting, as well as awards and corporate gift glass. The stained glass area often utilizes the glass made in the hot glass studio, to create unique and standout contemporary stained glass, ranging from residential windows, commercial storefronts, and architectural installations for public spaces. The coldshop and cold-assembly studio often finishes the hot glass work before sending off via the post or freight, or getting installed into its environment.
Monarch Glass Studio caters to a wide range of clients. From creating finished installations for architects and build teams to working with artists in fabrication of components or moving from design to installation as a whole, Monarch Glass Studio is a design team's dream come true in whatever the needs might be.
The fully insured and coded studio is a professional member of the Stained Glass Association of America. Monarch Glass Studio continues to develop and evolve as the years pass, but a constant of excellence is always its focus. The professional team behind the studio goes to all lengths to assure only the best glass is created at Monarch Glass Studio.
Blown Architectural Glass / Rondels
Dubbed the "Rondel King" by Jim Flanagan of Fremont Antique Glass in Seattle, Washington, Monarch owner, Tyler Kimball, has made thousands of rondels for stained glass artists and architectural glass studios around the globe. Whether 25 inch diameter "crown bullion" rondels for the Master's Clubhouse at the Augusta golf course, fine lace-like designed rondel for artists in Japan, or brilliantly colored ones for private residents in Manhattan, Kimball has taken on the order. There are no orders too large or too complex to be considered by the Monarch Glass Studio team. Please submit an email to inquire about ordering from us.
We aim for perfection: It's not shipped to you if it doesn't meet our standards: 1/8 to 3/16 inch thickness, TORCHED PUNTY MARK, and clean color. Unless otherwise noted, we make rondels the way they were meant to be... easy on the assembler and beautiful to the viewer.
Our prices are some of the best on the market too. Let us give you a quote!

Owner Tyler Kimball comes from a background in stained and leaded windows so he understands that just the right sheet of glass can make an art glass panel really come to life. Monarch can make specialized sheets, rondels, crown bullions, Norman slabs, French pulls, three-dimensional inclusions for panels, or anything else that can be imagined. For more information about commissioning blown flat glass for your next project, send an email with your information and what you're looking for.
We're now making mouth-blown sheet glass at Monarch Glass Studio! Sheets are around (16" to 18") x (20" to 24") and range in price between $120 and $195 each depending on color and technique. Crating fees and freight charges are also added onto orders. Code numbers and a color chart are coming in the Spring of 2025.
Installations
Tyler Kimball, the owner of Monarch Glass Studio, began his journey into working with glass as a stained glass artist. He began working in stained glass in 1999. Though his path has taken into the world of hot glass and other disciplines within the material, it is the finished look of stained glass that is still his true passion.
Monarch Glass Studio is one of just a handful of studios that creates stained glass works from start to finish. Working in design of windows for large installations, creating the glass itself in the hot glass studio, fabricating the windows, and also installing the windows nationwide is really the full gamut that is not offered by many.
Utilizing natural light to enhance the color within blown glass and spread secondary splashes of color throughout an environment is an amazing use of lofted ceilings of open air. Monarch Glass Studio loves when a suspended work option is presented for it will mean a full capture of light and color. Using slip-proof hardware and stainless airline cable, the suspended work is sure to stay suspended as well.
Glass often carries a stigma of being too fragile to handle outdoor elements. That is simply not true. When made corrrectly, glass is as sturdy and solid as many other materials. Monarch Glass Studio has outdoor works that have stood the test of hail storms, tornadoes, earthquakes, and even a hurricane, coming out unscathed. Glass has a brilliance and color unlike any other material that deserves the natural light and environment of the outdoors. When engineered correctly, glass can stand up to the most severe of environments. That is why so much goes into the proper making and engineering of glass and hardware by Monarch Glass Studio for its outdoor sculptures.
Residential and Commissioned Work
Making glass to fit its environment is one of our main goals at Monarch Glass Studio. No matter if it is a pendant light in a stairwell or full blown installation of glass to make a space come alive, we want to sit down and see what can be done. Monarch Glass Studio can also install the work or hand off the components for someone else to put into place.
Attaching blown glass to the wall can be easy and effective in adding color and movement to a space. Wether a grouping of wall platters or something "off-the-wall" is something desired for your walls or interior space, Monarch Glass Studio would love to help create that unique statement piece with you.
