Playgrounds that adjoin parking lots that do not have the required separation, existing curbing or barriers will require a vehicle barrier be placed between the parked cars and the playground. PalmSHIELD's PlaySAFE vehicle barrier is a stout vehicle barrier system to serve as a barrier between cars that may roll forward into the playground where children are playing. The PlaySAFE vehicle barrier not only provides that peace of mind but also incorporate our PlaySAFE playground screening system. PlaySAFE is designed with 6" square steel posts mounted to 10" square steel plates to be anchored to the top of existing concrete or placed on top of concrete piers engineered by others.
An optional W-Beam guardrail system with offset blocks may be mounted to the posts providing even more safety. W-beam guardrail is a kind of road crash barrier used for securing highway safety by preventing errant vehicles from sliding out of the roads and impacting the roadside buildings or other objects. So it is most commonly fixed on the side of the highways, dock areas, aisles, especially on curves and slopes for protection against run-off-road collisions.
Our W-beam guardrail product is formed in accordance with the latest highway safety barrier technology for making sure its high durability and maximum strength. It is made of high quality steel, which reduces the impact force caused by mobile equipment to the maximum extent. Meanwhile, the zinc coating or PVC coating perfectly combined to the W-beam guardrail keeps the products free of damages of corrosion and rust.

Cable Railings
PalmSHIELD cable systems are designed to be accompanied with code compliant stair grab rails. All of our sections are custom fabricated. PalmSHIELD uses a rigid, thin cable stabilizer bar in the panels to support the long cable runs. At changes in slope, a stabilizer bar will support the cables without the use of additional posts. Fewer posts leaves more to be desired as you look beyond the cable rail system.

Bar grating is popular as a vertical infill material due to its real three-dimensional appearance. With bars varying from 1" to 1 1/2" wide, it provides a great deal of depth. Bar Grating consists of a series of bearing bars welded or pressed at various intervals to perpendicular cross bars to form a load-bearing panel. Panels are manufactured by welding, locked by swaging or press-locked processes. A typical panel configuration has bearing bars that are spaced 1-3/ 16 inches on center with perpendicular cross bars spaced 4 inches apart (center to center). Bar Grating is available in a wide selection of panel sizes; bar sizes and spacings; bar shapes; and material types. The most popular style is Welded Bar Grating.

Gate Hardware
This unique hinge was designed in consideration of thousands of extra-heavy gate applications, working directly with installers and end users. Built for PalmSHIELD gates weighing in excess of 5000 lbs, this hinge offers never before seen flexibility, ease of installation and lasting durability. Weld-on hinges are a poor design requiring skilled welders not readily available and no further adjustments over time.
The Gorilla 3000 is a bolt-on adjustable hinge with massive bearing plates and hinge pin for oversized gates. Unlike other weld-on hinges, the Gorilla 3000 hinge leaves only a one inch gap between the gate post and gate frame when installed. No more un-sightly gaps. Let's face it. Gates are constantly moving in and out with 1000s of pounds of cantilevered load. These will require adjustment. The Gorilla Hinge 3000 was designed with the end user in mind. Not only does the hinge use a bolt-on design requiring no welding, but the lower hinge leaf has large slots for future field adjustments that can be performed by end users.
The key function of drop rods is to lock a swing gate into position by dropping a metal rod into a hole in the ground. Drop rods are much easier to install on a large gate than a regular locking handle would be because you can make a larger hole to deal with alignment issues. If you are installing a double swing gate, you will need to install a cane bolt on one leaf of the gate so that it can be locked into position for the other leaf to latch against. You will simply need to dig a hole in the ground, and then line it with steel tubing or buy a ground stop..
PalmSHIELD incorporates the Locinox FortyLock mortise lock into all of our gates. These industrial and polished 100% stainless steel locksets include a keyable cylinder and auto-latching mechanism. Our signature Sampson and Maximus gate frame designs require a unique locking mechanism that can accommodate a much wider door. These unique gate locks prevent the gate from being both pulled apart or forced opened.
The Locinox lockset provides a common keyable cylinder, auto latch bolt, a very stout hook latch and is re-keyable. It is available in brushed aluminum and stainless-steel finishes to complement our aluminum gate series
Exterior flatwork is anything but flat. That's right, we recognize that all exterior paving is sloped for drainage. This type of sail shade is connected from the corners to poles or structures. There is a stainless steel cable inside a pocket sewn to the boundary of the sail which connects to turnbuckles on two or more corners. Turnbuckles connect to eyelets on the posts or structure and closing them tensions the cables and the sail into a taut shade with concave edges. The corners can be at the same height or different heights to create a 3D shape for enhanced wind resistance and rain drainage.
Instead of cables and turnbuckles on the corners this type of sail shade has grommets on the boundary every 6″-12″ and is tied to a structure with ropes.
The repeated connections to the structure create straight edges instead of the curved boundaries seen in the corner connected sails.
