BOISE ISD OPERATION FACILITY
The Boise School District Facilities & Operations (F&O) Department comprises over 300 hard-working individuals whose mission is to maintain safe, clean, comfortable, and conducive learning for more than 25,000 students.
Commercial Distribution Centers
The almost 3-million-square-foot Walmart Import Distribution Center project sits on 230+ acres, equivalent to 52 football fields with a parking area large enough to fit 2600 trailers. This massive distribution center also offers 25,000 sq ft of office and maintenance space and 226 dock doors.
This massive 1,360,875 sq. ft. distribution center will consist of a single, 45-foot high building primarily of warehouse space. Ancillary office space, including administration, shipping, and receiving offices, is included in the building envelope. This new facility uses automated systems to receive, prepare, load, and ship merchandise to Big Lots all over the southwest.
HNI states that they are dedicated to sustaining the viability of our environment. To stay competitive while remaining environmentally conscious, HNI utilizes a variety of technologies that reduce energy consumption. Along with solar power, using high R-value insulation in their facilities aids in reducing costs associated with maintaining temperature requirements for storing and processing almonds.
The Amazon Distribution Warehouse is a 335,841 square-foot tilt wall facility, built by KTR Development and then leased to the Seattle-based e-commerce giant.
Education and Schools Project Profiles
Level 5, Inc., used ECOMAXci® FR Air Barrier as the continuous insulation on this project not only for the fact that polyiso insulation provides the highest R-value per inch of any continuous insulation available, but also because of its superior performance as an air and weather resistive barrier. ECOMAXci® FR Air Barrier was also able to be applied directly to the metal studs without the need of exterior gypsum to meet NFPA 285 requirements.
Hamlin Robinson School has been at the forefront of serving students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences for almost 40 years. In June of 2019, the HRS Board of Trustees voted to build a new middle school with an expanded learning center on the property. The new building is scheduled to open for the 2022-23 school year.
The Architect on this project, NAC Architecture, used Rmax® ECOMAXci® Wall Solution over the entire building envelope incorporating different claddings throughout. NAC Architecture has long been a strong proponent of Rmax® and the ECOMAXci® Wall Solution.
The project will create three, grade-level common areas in the Middle School and increase the size of the Middle School from 22,950 square feet to 35, 625 square feet. Existing classrooms and lab spaces will be renovated and doubled in size to promote flexible seating. The Innovation Lab will also double in size and have increased student capacity. The design, created by frequent HGC partner SHP, will support the exploratory approach to learning that The Seven Hills School is known for. It will place each grade strategically on similar floors. It will also create common gathering spaces for each grade, supporting the “community within a community" concept.
Healthcare Project Profiles
The Humboldt General Hospital expansion project includes a new memory care facility, centralized rural clinic space and expansions to the OB, ER and OR departments. It was designed and built to be a showcase for safety, innovation and contribution to the medical care community, construction quality and craftsmanship, and for its functionality of design and aesthetic quality.
Stonecrest at Clayton View is a new construction of assisted living and memory care units in a structural steel and structural metal stud building.
his facility has three levels above ground and one partially below ground. The basement level has a 14,000 square foot footprint and walk-out residential units that face the courtyard. An additional 5,000 square feet was added to the entry level floor and continues on the floors above.
The Whitley of Wheeling has 102 total beds located along Buffalo Creek in the center of Wheeling's rapidly expanding development sector. This institution offers possibilities for all potential residents with 68 assisted living beds and 34 memory care beds distributed across 2-bed, 1-bed, and studio rooms. The memory care wings are located on the first level, along with a dining room, a library, and two separate living rooms that face the back. The assisted living residents are located on the upper two floors, which also feature a wellness center, workout, and PT/OT facilities, as well as two multipurpose rooms.
The six-story, 88,000-square-foot addition to UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital's Oakland campus includes five floors of clinic space, exam & treatment rooms & labs. The project also includes a floor dedicated to building services and parking. This new outpatient clinic is the first of many projects in the hospital's 10-year master plan, and the construction practices and products used will set the tone for the rest of the development.
Large Event Center Project Profiles
The Anaheim Convention Center is the largest convention center on the west coast, hosting 190 conventions annually and attracting more than 1 million guests. The $190 million, 450,000 sq. ft. expansion will add 200,000 sq. ft. of flexible space, 10,000 sq. ft. of balcony space, 100,000 sq. ft. of column-free space, and 1350 parking spaces. The expansion will include a pedestrian bridge concourse connecting the parking structure to existing Convention Center facilities.
Golden 1 Center is a multi-purpose indoor arena currently under construction in downtown Sacramento, California. The arena is part of a business and entertainment district called Downtown Commons, which will include a $250 million, 16-story, mixed-use tower.
Levi's Stadium is located in Santa Clara, California, in the San Francisco Bay Area, and it currently serves as the home of the San Francisco 49ers. The Stadium was designed by HNTB, an internationally renowned architectural form focusing on creating a multi-purpose venue - with both fan experience and the utilization of green technology as top priorities.
The Star is a 91-acre, multi-use development. At the cornerstone of this complex is the new Dallas Cowboys world headquarters and The Ford Center at The Star—a new 12,000-seat, indoor, multipurpose events center and sports training facility. Designed to be the most comprehensive NFL training facility in the country, The Ford Center at The Star will be shared by the Dallas Cowboys, the City of Frisco, and the Frisco Independent School District for hosting a variety of sports, education, and community activities.
Modular/Offsite Construction Project Profiles
This modular multi-unit residential project in Denver, Colorado, is designed to make urban housing quicker to build and energy efficient. Built offsite in Boise, ID, by Nashua Builders, this approach kept on-site work to a minimum and helped reduce environmental impact.
The Rocky Mountain National Park project by Northstar Systembuilt creates housing for park rangers, including a mix of single and two-bedroom homes, dorms, and a support building. These modular structures provide rangers with comfortable, practical places to live and work year-round.

The architect on this project is Cuningham Group Architecture, Inc. - Minneapolis used our ECOMAXci® Wall Solution over the entire building envelope and will include 3 different claddings (masonry, metal faCade, cement board) throughout the exterior of the building. Eisen Panel Group is providing all the wall panels for this 12-story building with DensGlass sheathing with 2.5" ECOMAXci® Wall Solution covering. Working with IronMark Building Co. on the site has been outstanding.
Hamilton Anderson collaborated with Wayne State University and the university's housing partner, Corvias, to provide full design services for a much-needed new student housing project on Anthony Wayne Drive in Midtown Detroit.

Office Buildings Project Profiles
STUDIOS Architecture's vision for the redevelopment of this site was a visible reflection of the modernization and revitalization of the Park.
The new building is two stories above grade with a below grade parking garage, and is shaped into two architectural wings. The north wing of the building has a gently curving faCade that directs visitors towards the main site entrance.
To meet the growing demand for multi-tenant data center space, CoreSite Realty Corporation, a national provider of data center solutions, developed SV7 on its campus and it is currently in the final phases of construction.
Asheville City Centre is an 84,000 square foot, four-story office building with tenants including BB&T Bank, Roberts & Stevens Law Firm and Clark Nexsen Architects. The new office building will share a parking deck and courtyard with the new six-story Hilton Garden Inn.
The Boardwalk at Granite Park is 28,000 square-feet of restaurant and retail space attached with patios and a boardwalk around the lake feature at Granite Park. The Boardwalk will be located adjacent to the 299-room Hilton Granite Park Hotel and Conference Center, serving a daytime population of more than 6,000 employees and tenants.
Residential Single Family Homes Project Profiles
With some research and development, the solution came in the form of a polyisocyanurate insulation board that integrated a glass fiber drainage mesh facer on both sides. Now K Hovnanian had access to a product that allowed for the positive drainage needed for 1-coat stucco assemblies, but that also had 20% higher R-Value than the continuous insulation originally specified.
The objective of this unique project was to create a low maintenance, energy efficient and durable home, that targeted beach vacationers. The property owners selected Coastal Fortified Homes to collaborate on the design and implementation to achieve this high level of performance. Rmax polyiso insulation was selected to provide a thermal layer of protection for energy efficiency.
The Terraces home's were constructed of pre-cast concrete “sandwich" panels, which consist of two reinforced wythes (layers) of concrete encasing 3" Rmax Concrete Core-CGF . These home's were engineered to withstand and protect against threatening storms with up to 200 MPH winds.
The Villages, an active 55 and older adult residential community in central Florida, was first started in the 1960's by Harold Schwartz. The community now has 157,000 residents, 70,000 homes and 39 golf courses.
The Villages community contains a mix of block homes (70%) and wood frame homes (30%) all using ¾" R-Matte® Plus-3 on the walls, which has been the specified polyiso insulation on the block homes for over 25 years.
Retail Mixed Use Project Profiles
Herb Chambers Jaguar Land Rover is a state-of-the-art dealership located on Commonwealth Avenue, a major street in Boston. This four-story, nearly 200,000sf building will include showrooms, office space, service bays, vehicle storage, and customer amenity space, including lounges.
Aldi Foods is a German based retail food distributor, which has hundreds of store and warehouse locations throughout the eastern United States. In past years, MS Consultants of Columbus, Ohio, have specified only two Dow products, Thermaxci or Xarmor, to be installed on all new or remodel retail locations.
With the help of Mr. Robert Mitchell, the Aldi construction representative in Richmond, VA., Rmax was able to have ECOMAXci® FR Air Barrier included as an alternative in the new specifications that have been recently updated by Aldi Real Estate.
Liberty Warehouse will be Durham's next iconic building and an anchor of the Central Park neighborhood. It was built in the 1940's and is the last of the large tobacco auction warehouses. This unique re-development will include 246 luxury rental apartments and 24,693 square-feet of retail space - across from the very popular Durham's Farmer's Market.
Nebraska Furniture Mart is the largest home furnishing store in North America selling furniture, flooring, appliances and electronics. There are three other locations with The Colony, Texas store being the largest. Owned by Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway Inc., the $400 million store has two levels with 560,000 square feet of retail space (about 9 football fields). The warehouse/distribution space is 1,300,000 square feet (about 22 football fields), it holds 500,000 items and has more than 100 bays for pick up/delivery.
