The testing team at a Long Beach aerospace facility was facing a familiar problem. Their work demands a constant stream of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), but their fixtures are so large, it's easier to bring shielding to the work than to commit to one fixed testing setup.
The mobile shielding units needed 1/8" of coverage and had to be strong enough to withstand exposure, heavy enough to shield, and still easy enough to move. Fixed barriers limited flexibility. Lead curtains sagged and couldn't guarantee consistent protection. Each workaround introduced new risks, either to safety or to workflow.
The MarShield team guided the client through the process of using standard barrier panel designs in a stacked and overlapping configuration. This approach ensured full shielding while reducing engineering time and cost.
