QUALITY ASSURANCE
Manufacturer Qualifications:
The Manufacturer is to be a current Certified Welding Fabricator as defined by either AWS or CWB, or both.
Comply with structural welding codes that are applicable to their products or materials.
Welding Codes: As produced by AWS or CSA.
Installer Qualifications: Company specializing in performing Work of this section with documented experience for projects of similar scope and complexity.
Factory trained and certified by the Manufacturer.

PRE-INSTALLATION CONFERENCE
Convene a conference approximately two weeks before the scheduled commencement of the Work. Attendees shall include Architect, Contractor and trades involved. The agenda shall include schedule, responsibilities, critical path items and approvals.
DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
Deliver telescoping stands in manufacturers packaging clearly labeled with manufacturer name and content.
Deliver at a scheduled time for installation that will not interfere with other trades operating in the building whenever and wherever possible.
Store and handle bleacher equipment in a manner to prevent damage and in compliance with manufacturer's written instructions and recommendations.
Protect from damage due to weather, excessive temperature, and construction operations.
PROJECT CONDITIONS
Field Measurements: Coordinate actual dimensions for construction affecting telescoping stands installation with accurate field measurements before fabrication.
Document field measurements on final shop drawings.

PERFORMANCE AND DESIGN REQUIREMENTS
Electrical Components, Devices, and Accessories: Must be listed and labeled as defined in NFPA 70, by a qualified testing agency and marked for intended location and application.
Seating Layout: Telescoping stands to comply with ICC 300 for year _____ - Standard for Bleachers, Folding and Telescopic Seating, and Grandstands, except where additional requirements are indicated or imposed by authorities having jurisdiction.
Structural Performance: Engineer, design, fabricate and install telescopic gym seating systems to the following structural loads without exceeding allowable design working stresses of materials involved, including anchors and connections. Apply each load to produce maximum stress in each respective component of each telescoping stand unit according to ICC 300.
Manufacturer's System Design Criteria:
Gymnasium Seat Assembly; To support and resist, in addition to its own weight, the following forces:
Live Load: 120 lbs. per linear foot (1.75 kN per m) on seats and decking.
Uniformly Distributed Live Load: Not less than 100 lbs. per square foot (4.79 kN per sq m) of gross horizontal projection.
Parallel Sway Load: 24 lbs. per linear foot (0.35 kN per m) of row combined with the Uniformly Distributed Live Load as specified.
Perpendicular Sway Load: 10 lbs. per linear foot (0.15 kN per m) of row combined with the Uniformly Distributed Live Load as specified.
Parallel and Perpendicular Sway Loads: Are not applied concurrently.

The manufacturer will furnish and install two attachments for Portable Power Assist on every applicable section of telescopic seating and one Portable Power Assist unit per facility.
Heavy Duty Power Cord: 100 ft long and plug connected to a 120 V 20 amp outlet convenient for the seating units to be operated.
Tractor Unit: Fitted with heavy-duty operating handle, convenient switches controlling forward / reverse, and separate from spring loaded on / off switch.

Xtreme Graphic Logo: Comprised of decorative photography, artwork and/or text that has been permanently in-mold bonded to the front vertical surface of the bleacher seat modules.
Artwork: Tiled. A process whereby a single large graphic is segmented and applied in separate parts to individual seat modules, which, when viewed together as a whole become a unified piece of artwork, similar to a mosaic.
Graphics: Printed as full-color CMYK pigmented resin and adhesive layer.
Once applied, the graphic cannot be removed from the seat module without damaging or destroying the seat module surface.
Customer must provide vector-based digital artwork, and an approved layout indicating tiled application to individual seat modules to be provided with bid.

EXECUTION
EXAMINATION
Do not begin installation until the substrates have been properly constructed and prepared.
Examine areas where telescoping stands are to be installed, with Installer present, for compliance with requirements for installation tolerances and other conditions affecting performance of the Work.
Tolerances:
Flooring: Level and within 1/8 inch (3 mm) in 8 feet (2438 mm).
Rear Wall: Plumb within 1/8 inch (3 mm) in 8 feet (2438 mm).
If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect in writing of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
PREPARATION
Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
INSTALLATION
Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, approved submittals, and in proper relationship with adjacent construction.
Comply with referenced safety standards.
FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
Field Inspection: Coordinate field inspection in accordance with appropriate sections in Division 01.

ADJUSTING AND CLEANING
On completion of installation, lubricate, test, and adjust each telescoping stand unit so that it operates according to manufacturer's written operating instructions.
Clean installed telescoping stands on exposed surfaces. Touch up shop-applied finishes or replace components as required to restore damaged or soiled areas.
MAINTENANCE SERVICE
Service Capability: Show proof of full-time service capability by factory certified technicians directly employed by the installer.
A four to eight-hour maximum on-site repair response is required during normal working hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays (excluding holidays).
All Full-Time Service Personnel shall be Factory Authorized and Trained.
Provide proof of Service Capability and a list of service parts regularly maintained in inventory.
DEMONSTRATION
Engage a factory-authorized service representative to train the Owner's maintenance personnel to adjust, operate, and maintain telescoping stands.
