For crane access from higher up the construction project, our client (Barangaroo Project) needed a bridge that would not only be safe and efficient, but also be able to be craned to different floors.

SafeSmart designed and manufactured this Crane Access Bridge, featuring lifting points for craning, high-grade aluminium construction and winching height, and SafeSmart's unique hinged, spring-loaded fixing brackets to accommodate any movement or swaying of the crane whilst the bridge is deployed.

Additionally, SafeSmart incorporated a lockable ramp and gate at each end of the bridge to prevent unauthorised access. And mesh sides create operator safety whilst maintain visibility.

This system features a heavy-duty framed panel arrangement to withstand harsh site conditions, as well as slide-in panels for easy modular disassembly and redeployment at another site. The posts bolt to the slab edge, creating a stronger structure than traditional scaffolding-type edge protection.

Sliding safety latches prevent panels from accidentally lifting off, and the system is designed to comply to relevant design load requirements.

And 8.5″-deep, braced stair treads are ridged with an anti-slip tread to make them durable and safe for use in any conditions. Add to this, 8″ locking nylon castors with sealed bearings for longevity. When locked, the castor rotation as well as movement locks, providing access platform stability.

Includes forklift sleeves and crane lifting brackets for easy transportation. Crane lifting points are provided as standard; fork sleeves are an optional extra.

Swaged aluminium plate deck for superior grip and drainage, cross-braced frame, 1102lbs SWL and compliant with OSHA standards, and is also NATA tested and approved.

Truck loading platforms are available in 8′, 13′ and 19'8″ length versions, with options such as non-slip fibreglass stair nosing.

The guardrail is attached to the side of the truck by passing the clamp lock block between the tie rail and the body of the deck. Pivot the block into the vertical position behind the tie rail and rotate the base block into the best position to support the frame against the tie rail and side of the deck. Firmly tighten the handle to activate the clamp.

Add further guardrails adjacent to each other along the side of the vehicle as required.
