The Ducted Split system is comprised two separate units: an evaporator and a condenser. Both units were designed and manufactured by Wine Guardian to work together.

The Ducted Split system was designed with licensed contractors in mind. Like standard residential ducted mini split systems - the Ducted Split's evaporator and condenser sections are connected through refrigerant copper tubing – helping to create a familiar installation process.

The biggest challenges to wine storage on a boat are environmental. Temperature and humidity fluctuations are common at sea, and vibrations from both the ship's engine and the ocean itself are detrimental to fragile wines. Proper wine storage is vital as it's essential for aging classic wines.

Even on a yacht, space is at a premium. Ideally, yacht owners would plan a wine cellar as their ship is being built, but if your storage space is an afterthought, some creative thinking will be in order. Closets, stairways, and even a butler's pantry can all be converted into cellars.

Art, old photographs, and documents are a class of precious items especially vulnerable to the negative effects of temperature and humidity. These are also the possessions often stored in dank basements and stuffy attic spaces, which accelerate their deterioration. In other instances, well-intended collectors preserve their art with air conditioners designed to cool human beings. Wine Guardian Pro cooling units provide tighter climate control protection—within plus or minus 1 F° (0.5 C°)—that will preserve valuables for a long period of time. Most professional musicians, collectors, and serious hobbyists cherish their instruments. They are a source of joy, identity, and potentially a source of income. If we want to enjoy them for as long as possible, they deserve the highest level of care. This includes when we put them away for safekeeping. As a result, finding a long-term musical instrument storage solution should become a priority.

Most musical instruments are best stored clean and in their original cases. However, taking care of these prized possessions extends far beyond storing a guitar upright or keeping a flute in its case – especially when storing them for long periods of time. The elements that have the highest potential to damage instruments are temperature and humidity.

Storing food for long periods, of a year or more, is gaining in popularity among the residential sector. Between the uncertainty associated with living through a pandemic and the financial benefits of stocking up, long-term food storage just makes sense. People are able to store canned goods, freeze-dried foods, bulk items, and even wheat in the same space. However, homeowners should be aware of several factors that have the potential to jeopardize the success of long-term food storage.

For a select audience, cigars are one of life's guilty pleasures and storing them properly is the only way to ensure quality when you are ready to enjoy them. Unsurprisingly, proper humidity is at the cornerstone of an enjoyable cigar experience. Too much humidity will make it difficult to smoke or light a cigar or will cause it to burn unevenly; it may also give the cigar an undesirable, moldy taste. Too little humidity will dry out the oils that provide elasticity to the cigar wrapper, which will end up cracking. The oils also hold all the flavor of a fine cigar and vanish in a dry environment or leave behind a bitter taste. The lack of moisture also causes the cigar to burn rapidly.

Climate control for fur storage is less about maintenance and more about process control. The most important element in preserving fur is temperature, which protects it from deterioration. Suitable temperatures are below 55℉ (13℃) at a minimum with 34-45℉ (1-7℃) being ideal. However, there is such a thing as too cold. Freezing temperatures cause fur to expand, while thawing causes it to contract. Repeating this process season after season stretches and even tears fur—jeopardizing its longevity.

Computer server rooms house expensive technology systems that are vulnerable to the harmful effects of improper temperature and humidity levels. Even large smart homes may have enough electronics to generate hot spots that can threaten equipment. All of the associated consequences, including those of improper hot spot remediation, can be easily prevented through proper storage.

Maintaining a consistent temperature between 64°-80℉ (20°-27℃) is particularly critical for preventing server room hot spots. When ambient room temperatures reach above 80℉, equipment often exceeds 100℉ (38℃) and causes system failures and damage. Even temperatures that are too low can cause thermal stress and harm. Humidity is also a consideration in the preservation of technology equipment. Lack of moisture in the air will cause a buildup of static electricity potentially causing harm to the equipment.
