The SpeedGuard family of products provides an OSHA-compliant guardrail system for protecting workers from falling off 4-foot or taller truck beds when loading or unloading goods, strapping down the load or when placing tarps over the products.
OSHA 1910.28(b)(1)(i) states that the employer must ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that is 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level is protected from falling by a Guardrail systems, safety nets or personal fall protection systems, such as personal fall arrest, travel restraint, or positioning systems.
Flatbed trucks are more than 4 feet in height, so workers need to be protected when they work on them are on them and the loads they carry.
Installation is very easy and quick. The zinc-plated rail holders are placed into the stake pockets on the flatbed. Then the rails are dropped into the rail holders. The included ladder is also held in place by dropping into the stake pockets on the truck. SpeedGuard II can be set up by two people in just under 10 minutes with minimal interference to your trucking operations.
Both kits contain everything needed to protect 48" or 53" flatbeds. Each kit comes with a ladder for safely getting on top of the flatbed and a ladder safety gate. Choose between the kit with an all-terrain transport/storage cart or the kit without the cart so you can develop a custom on-site storage solution.
