Rainscreens, Weeps and Moisture Management
SC 5016 and SC 5032 are 0.024" (0.6 mm) thick high impact polystyrene sheets. They are formed with 3/16" corrugations and a spunbond polypropylene fabric on one side with a 4" (102 mm) skirt on one edge.
May be referred to in specifications as channeled and perforated high impact polystyrene with an adhered fabric as an intervening drainage medium behind stucco and scratch coat systems.
Can be used in place of three-dimensional matrix of monofilament fibers with adhered fabric.
Gravity Cavity™ rainscreen drainage plane (drainage mat) is the economy alternative to our Sure Cavity® drainage plane (drainage mat) product. It works because it maintains a separation between the materials used for the veneer and the structural back-up wall to drain incidental moisture and dry out the building enclosure. Gravity Cavity™ drains and dries better than mesh-based drainage matrix products because its 1/8” deep channels enable moisture that enters the building envelope to travel quickly straight down and out the bottom of the wall, and it won’t compress behind siding.

Wall Opening Weeps™ are a versatile weep for use in thin veneer, full brick and full stone walls as well as above window and door openings. They put multiple, predictable weep holes where they belong, at the lowest point!

Weeps work when they create a path for drainage at the lowest point in the cavity wall - in this case, directly on the lintel or shelf angle flashing. Head Joint Weeps are 3/8" wide - the same as a mortar joint - so they act as a time-saving spacer for creating great looking brick joints.

Drainage removes bulk liquid moisture from a wall, but a little moisture can still do a lot of damage. The key to drying out a wall assembly is to ventilate the rainscreen drainage gap. Vent Strip ventilates a brick cavity wall below the shelf angle to keep your walls dry and sustainable.
